Dark Side character, but ended up with Talia?!? (Spoilers)

Post by Lord Chaos »

Hello, I am playing through the game as dark side and Onderon is my last planet. But for some odd reason as a pure dark side character (even getting dark side mastery bonus) I am being sided with Talia, where did I go wrong?

I want to kill the Jedi Master like the others. :(

I've had difficulties the other way, actually, trying to side with Talia and being stuck with Tobin. (The way I see it, if I was DS, I wouldn't side with somebody who had tried to kill me very recently, and would rather go for the powerful yet manipulable ruler. But still.)
As far as I'm aware, your siding has nothing to do with whether you're DS or LS, but purely on the choices you make around Onderon. So talking to the two guys in the street about who would make a better ruler, inciting or calming the riot in the square, that kind of thing.

While the choices you make around Onderon seem like they would impact the eventual decision, the only real decision is right before you have to leave Onderon the first time when you encounter Tobin. If you agree to his terms, you'll side with Vaklu, and if you reject him, you'll side with Talia.

This is probably the most dumb "LS/DS" choice in the game, because siding with Vaklu himself isn't necessarily a dark side move, and its arguably better for Onderon as a whole if he were to lead. The main drawback is the fact that you have to kill the jedi master on Onderon if you side with Vaklu, which means you're forced to pick based on that.
If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.
