Can someone translate the German text at the bottom in to English please?

It is meant to be a cheat for Lionheart however using the console ingame results in little except floating dialog.

I have been on a quest to find working cheats for this game due to my intention to see every area. I don't want to start again with some imported uber character but if I could import an uber character into my current game it would be good.

So far none of the cheats I have found work. The only ones that are valid are more exploits than cheats; such as sitting on the crossroads map and killing travellers as the spawn on to the map, reloading at containers to get powerful items etc.

There are cheats in the game, there are several cheat scripts in the data folder. I just can't figure how to get them working ingame!

Two things it could be, though I wouldn't take my word on it. One would be to get a script editor that'll open the HUGE data.dat file in the Lionheart folder and do that... But I will be shocked if anyone finds an editor that will open that huge thing.
Two, it might be telling you to open the configuration file in the Lionheart folder and input the "opentheconsoltohavefun" there. I don't know, but I would not chance it at all.
How DO you open the console in the game anyway?

I don't know any cheats or how to get them, but looking at the attached screenie there must be a way to bring up this character editor in-game...

Any advice on how this could be done without having to play through a series of quests (i.e. via a command) i would be greatful for...

They also wont work if you create a shortcut to lionheart.exe with any of the following methods

So i think its safe to say that if the German cheat is correct you have to edit the HUGE "Data.dat" file with a script editor...

about cheats, i think there are no cheats in the game, but there are some thinks you can "mod".
the data.dat file is NO script or something, its more like a zip archive.
you can unpack it with winrar (i dont have test winzip).
make in the lionheart folder a new folder named "data", unpack the data.dat in this folder.
there are many other folders in and much script files.
before start the game now, delete the original data.dat file or rename it.
the most files, you modify, have no effect to the items you have in your inventory.
if you change the code in the script of the scimitar (damage 100-200), every scimitar in you inventory NOT change. only "new" scimitars you found (in a chest or killing a enemy) have this new damage.
only some scripts change effects in your current game.

"Constant Value=10" its the multiplier to calculating your armor class (only for the attribute).
change them into 100, load your savegame and look to your armor class.

there many things you can modify.

this is more modding as cheating. but you can make many things:
perks every 2 levels, not every 3.
change the XP you need to levelup and many more.

There are cheat scripts in the giant data file; the question is how to open the console so you can enter them.

There is no console. (I think...)

If you extract data.dat to data with 7zip (or winrar) you'll find a folder called "Resources", and inside that folder there is, "Cheat Code Scripts"
The Cheat Code Scripts folder has a bunch of ... (drumroll) Cheat Scripts.

Open up "Give Gold" cheat script in notepad. You will see this;

So it would appear to me that this is kind of like Gothic cheats, if you've played that before. I did try pressing tilde but nothing came up, or it was invisible (like gothic console is). So I tried typing "gold" for the heck of it and a target cursor came up (it is round and green), you pick a spot on the ground and a green circle appears where you targeted. Walk up to the green circle and you will find gold.

I haven't tried the other cheats yet. I wanted to reply here right away.



Here are a list of the cheats from that folder;

companion :: Gives an invulnerable chicken companion (make sure you save first)

lll10 :: gives you enough experience to gain 10 levels

xxx :: unknown, the script appears to give levels like lll10 and gives skill points, modifies AC ... be careful! Somebody please test this for us.

Karma :: Displays your current Karma for 10 seconds.

Fire :: unknown, the script appears to give fire magic skill points. Somebody please test this for us.

picker :: unknown, the script appears to summon a "DummySpeaker"? Somebody please test this for us.

Open door :: unknown, the script appears to summon a door? But I'm guessing this unlocks doors. Somebody please test this for us.

Note! I have no idea what those other cheats do, if anything. I am guessing you only picked a part of what you were reading to copy and paste, and that you actually missed something... I am guessing somebody actually programmed a "script editor" and modded those cheats into the game, because they are not available in the cheat code scripts folder and I cannot find any information about that copy/paste on google.
If you, or anyone, still has a link to where you found the german cheats above, please link us instead of using copy and paste. Thanks.

It's not totally unheard of for non-english speaking people to program utilities in their native language. For instance, ROTKX has japanese/chinese utilities and mods that are not available in english. So you need to find a german gamer that has information about this. Otherwise we english speaking people are like ... on the moon, looking down at everybody else utterly clueless. Lol.
Easily lost in translation.


Note! If a script kiddy or programmer studies the scripts long enough, they may be able to alter or create their own cheats using the same programming methods. For example, the "Fire" cheat has this in the script; "Skill to modify=Skills/Magic Thought/Fire" so I am guessing you could modify that for Ice, or whatever. (Not Tested, Just Guessing. Don't bother doing this if you can't code or program. Remember to backup first.) With that in mind, the german you copy and pasted was probably part of some larger project to create cheats for this game, for himself and his friends. I'm sure there are multiple people here more than capable of doing the same on their own time. Sadly, I'm not one of them. I hate coding, coding sucks, so please don't go around begging people to do this for you. If they want to do it, they'll do it ... trust me, coding really really sucks. But I don't see why not.



Of course, I could be wrong about all of this ... I am not a programmer or geek in any shape or form.

Console anyone?

ok, so we got the codes, how exactly do we bring up the console? I've tried enabling it in the cfg file using different command line, none would work and the last user to post on the matter didn't expand beyond stating it was related to how it worked in gothic.

I tried a few stuff from gothic and it didn`t work either. I'd really like to just be able to use the skill and gold cheat codes
