Kamikaze Zen Name Plate help?
Kamikaze Zen Name Plate help?
Hi all! I have the Wesp 6.1 (I believe) patch and I just finished the Kamikaze Zen mission and I opened the vault and found the name plate. I looked at a walkthrough to try and figure out what this was for and it said that I should have gotten money instead. It doesn't mention this name plate. Using google I saw a read me saying that the name plate replaces some sort of XP bug or soemthing...
I just recently got bloodlines and started it with this patch. Thanks in advanced!

The walkthrough on this site refers to the 1.2 official patch, thus not including the enormous amount of changes Wesp has made. If you're patient, you can open the readme file and search in there for changes that have you puzzled; using the name of the "offending" object as keyword usually proves effective.
As for the nameplate:

It's for the Gary poster quests - just keep delivering those items, and sooner or later he'll ask for the name plate in return for a poster.

That was indeed the reason. There was an additional xp intended for robbing the safe as Mitnick requested, but taking the money did not trigger it for inventory-internal reasons, so I had to swap the money with something else.phelot43 wrote:Using google I saw a read me saying that the name plate replaces some sort of XP bug or something...
A new walk through would be good, and soon. I think that the confusion the person who started this thread would have been clarified easily. I can help with this, somewhat. I do have a decent guide in which I can use as a template. However, I don't have the original text file, or where I found it. I think it might have been through gamefaqs, but don't quote me on it.
I do have one question for the rest of you all. Would pictures here help at all, or would they not be a help? I bet for phelot it would have helped, right? Anyway, if you need a photo of where something is, someone here can help with that.
I have a side question here. Is there anyway I can have separate directories for the save game files? I'd like to be able to play more than one clan, etc. at a time, and not have any data corrupted, or lost, etc. Thanks.

Dunno if it's possible game-wise, but you can simply write a batch script that renames the save folder to a dummy name, renames the alternative save folder to "save" and then renames the now-dummied save folder to the alternative name.
Sorry if this sounds confusing... I'll try to illustrate what I mean:
save -> dummy
alt_save -> save
dummy -> alt_save
If you don't know how to write batch files, either do it manually or ask around for someone who knows - it's not much work to write such a script.

I think someone on Planet Vampire or Game FAQs is already doing a revised text walkthrough for the unofficial patch, but it would be great to improve the wonderful graphical walkthrough right here on Game Banshee!Sir Twist wrote:A new walk through would be good, and soon. Hi, I don't mean to keep bugging you all over this, but I finished 4 poster quests, and I haven't gotten any other emails from gary regarding them? SHould I be? I saw that you can trade in a throwing star, grenade, (library?) card, and the name plate.
I finished the hallowbrook hotel area...
Also, is there a faq or anything for this patch so I don't have to bug everyone all the time :laugh:
Thanks again all!

Phelot43, are you running at least the 6.0 unofficial patch? That's what you need to be running. Maybe something a bit sooner, but not sure. If you aren't, then you need to update. As to the walkthrough, it's in progress. It's starting to be updated here, but I think in a previous post there are some other places that have an updated walkthrough.

Hi, thanks for the responses.
I thought I installed the plus version, but now that I think about it, I'm not really sure I just checked the readme and it says that with plus you can't bite through swat armor. I remember doing so so I'm guessing I don't have it installed.
I'm using 6.1.
Anyways, no big deal and sorry for wasting time, I'm almost done with this playthrough anyway, so I'll just reinstall and make sure I select it this time!
EDIT: quick question, can I install the plus content over the existing patch? I don't care if it breaks the save games. Or do I need to install from scratch? Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure what will happen, but you maybe able to reinstall the patch over an existing one. But await Wesp's response to be sure that it's ok. He might be able to tell you better.

If you start a new game afterwards you can just install the plus version on top of your current setup without installing Bloodlines from scratch.phelot43 wrote: EDIT: quick question, can I install the plus content over the existing patch? That's what I thought a person can do, Wesp, just run the patch again, and make sure they add the plus stuff when they do. I don't know what it would to a save game, if much of anything, but I'm not going to experiment at the moment. I might one of these days, though.
