Post by whitetail »

I just purchase the field plants book off of Abigail chptr 1.

The book enterered all kinds of plants to my list ,includeing white myrtle and crows eye ect.
I have been running around and not one of the plants show names?
Whats up?
Is there some place in the set up that I have to check off to get the plants to indentify themselves?
Thanks for your time!

Sounds like a bug to me, all you should need is the herbalism skill and the relevant entry in your journal for that plant.

You can also hold down the 'Alt' key if you want to display the names of any object in the game (or whatever key you assigned for this option).

Alternatively, there is a setting in the control panel somewhere or other that permanently turns them on/off.

Thanks

DesR85,
u mention the alt key .
did not know that .
My ? is Can I use that key to identify items that I dont have entries for?
That would be handy ,then I could run around I.D.ing stuff to determine what books to purchase next.
I hate spending money on books that are relitively useless .
Its like a craps game>.

To answer your question, no. All it does is display the name of the objects. If you're referring to plants that are not in your journal, then it will show up as 'Unknown herb'. I did try to identify them by their looks but it turns out to be a waste of time as most of them look identical to each other. Best bet is to buy many books on plants. Don't think there is another way.
