Vogga/Telos fuel deal problem

Post by NK1969 »

OK, so I did the whole run-through on Goto's Yacht and "defeated" him. Then I went back to Nar Shaada to try and get the Telos fuel deal brokered. I went and did the whole dance thing to get an audience but he doesn't know that I took care of Goto for him. What gives?

Hello and welcome to the forums, NK1969. :)

As for your problem, it's a bug. You can find the fix at Team Gizka. If I had known about this the first time I played, I could've completed this quest long ago. Pity I didn't know until I signed up to this forum. :(

Are you sure??? I'm pretty sure it's npot a bug but a plot point. I've just spent 3 hours verifiying ti with various characters and I think you are mistaken.

There are 2 endings, both replicable repeatedly and consistently, and unbugged as far as I can see (though oif course the bug might never have shown up for me)

There are 2 endings to the 'Fuel for Peragus' quest,as for many quests.

Ending 1: (the DS/Neutral one) After finishing GOTO's yacht, go and speak to Vogga. Tell him GOTO won't bother him again. He'll agree to ship fuel. You get 200XP and 500 credits. (see below)

Ending 2: (the LS one, which is of course less quick, less easy and less rewarding!)After finishing GOTO's yacht, speak to GOTO (DON'T speak to Vogga first). You will need to gain some experience with him; this can be done in conversation (ask him what capabilities his droid has and say you're glad to have him along, agree to stabilise the Republic) or by saving the murder of an innocent for him to see (DSPs obviously for this).

Then ask him about his operations. He will explain that he was hijacking Vogga's freighters for the good of the Republic;(spoilers) it's dangerous for the Republic to be dependent on the selfish Hutts for fuel, draining Republic credits. The hijacking was supposed to force the Republic to develpop new ful sources and become self-sufficient in fuel. He asks you not to arrange for Citadel to get Hutt fuel for the good of the Republic.

If you agree to not to do so, you get +INF with GOTO and LSPs, but nothing else. (Useful for a LS player to get LSPs and +INF with GOTO, though!)

You have now completed the 'Fuel' quest and received your reward, so if you talk to Vogga afterwards you will not get the dialogue option to tell Vogga GOTO is dealt with, as, fairly obviously, you can't do two endings to the same quest.

I've noticed that the GOTO based ending doesn't appear in most walkthroughs. Nevertheless, it exists, andit works consistantly for me.

I swear that I got this bug when I did what was mentioned in the 1st ending (I went straight to Vogga after the GOTO Yacht incident). Talked to that chap and even though I got a response, the quest was not listed as complete when I checked the quest log. I gave up in frustration as a result. :(

As for the second one, I didn't bother to try it. I might give this game a second go and see whether I can complete this quest, but currently, I'm not interested in replaying the game again (it won't be for a while).

If Vogga agreed to ship the fuel paid you and you got the XP, you have basically finished the quest. There are one or two bugged quests that don't always clear from your quest log when you've finished them, and this is one of them. Strangely, it never used to clear on my old computer. Then I got a new puter and installed afresh and Hey Presto! It clears everytime now.

I really would suggest you have another go at KOTOR2 playing the other alignment and sex. There are significant differences, including the fact that you will get 2 different party members that you've never seen before if you do this. There are also a number of different ways to do many of the quests. It's also worth trying a different character class for the different feats etc.

Can you actually complete this quest without the help of team Gizka? I have never been able to complete it before.

As Alcina said, the quest is complete but does not show as a completed log entry. So yes, you can complete the quest without Gizka, but your log will show it still open.

Clear as mud?

Ok, I get it but everytime I would talk to Grenn there would be no option to talk to him about it.

I believe it's a done deal task. You don't need to talk to anyone, it's just complete. But without the bug fix you would not know it.

No the reason the quest was still showing was because you have to go to Grenn and tell him that you have found a new fuel source, this is the glitch that i am having, the quest disappears after i speak to Vogga and i cannot tell Grenn that i have a new fuel source.

Rar?

Ok I don't find a downloadable fix on that gizka site. Just a place that says beta is only for their team members. XD Anyone know of an actual downloadable vogga file fix? Please help. Can't believe the fans fixed this BEFORE lucasarts did. It is sad they cant just fix it many years after the game. -_-
