Keyboard problem driving me up the wall

During the game 1 of 4 things happen.
1, when i use the keyboard to turn the screen may spin and spin with no way to stop it.
2, suddenly for no apparent reason the game crashes and i get a black screen with the message "no video signal".
3, the keyboard will not respond to any key stroke so i cant do anything but can use the mouse.
4, the mouse arrow disappears when i try to move and my character will not move, the screen will not turn when i go to the edge of the screen (if i have it enabled to do so)
I have updated all the drivers and have changed my video card and updated the driver for this.
My system is Windows XP Home Service pack 3. Did re-install back to Service Pack 2 made no difference
AMD Athlon (tm) 64x2 Dual Core Processor 6000+
EITHER an NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS or ATI Radeon X1650 Pro have tried both
Creative SB Audigy LS sound card.
Is it a bug or what HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!

What patches/mods etc., if any, are you using?
What other programs do you have running in the background while playing NWN2?

The game-crashing problem occurs with me aswell. I'm not sure, but I think it's some problem with the graphics. It usually happens when I'm in an area with many plants and trees (True Name Meeting i.e.). The game slows down and after a minute or so it crashes. I reduced the graphic level and since then it's fine. It might help with your second problem, but I cant see any relevance with the keyboard problem.

I get some of these problems. The spin usually occurs in conversations and you can't stop it while in the conversation - so complete the conversation, press pause and then hit the key that would rotate the camera in the opposite direction. I am fully patched up on NWN2 and it has done it on both the machines I play it on.

For the no keyboard response problem, you just need to click on the icon to bring up the options and enter your journal or something, when you exit it, you will have full keyboard function again. Can be really frustrating in the middle of a fight! I've not had any of the other problems though. Good luck!

Mr Sir am fully patched. no background programs running have even disabled ant-virus and unplugged my home hub.

Abydos have done what you said will see results.

Darth Gavinus Great have stopped the spinning as per your advice

as for your next advice will see the results when it happens again.

seriously, that's your mouse, not the game.

it would do the same in any game that affords a 3d world that can spin around your character.
or it would just suddenly push the pointer into one of the corners of your screen otherwise (because it does not go farther than that).

get a pad that does not reflect light. or cover yours with a cloth that is not too thin.

crashes otoh only affect unstable systems, so check the drivers and dx libraries. the game itself is very stable even when alt-tabbing at will.
