I got through the gate to Oblivion I think.
Now I have been running aroung in circles for 4 hrs .
I found a guy in a cage and killed his keeper and got a key .
But for 4 hrs I have done nothing but run up and down towers and approchinging gates that keep saying this opens someplace else .
Gee thanks for the clue .
I believe I have been at all these gates cause I stayed in a clockwise direction.
Now after climbing all the towers of differanant names and passing the goons on ground level that I had already killed 4 hrs ago 4 times I do not have any idea what this game wants .I have read the walk thrus that I could find and could not follow what thay are talking about evidently.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
I would be gratefull if anyone could give me an idea what this is all about.
Next step is to load the dvd into my skeet launcher and just put it out of its misery.
While I am at it I might as well mention this .I have aquiered a number of horses legally but when I jump of for what ever reason and try to remount I am acused of stealing my own horses .

Towers
If this is the gate I'm thinking of then I understand what you're going through. Now, for me what I did on that particular gate was ignore those towers but instead take one that bring u above the middle level of the big central tower. What I did on that part was simply have my character drop to the middle level from the top floor and it was easy to continue on. The fall might hurt your character a some but with a moderate acrobatics skill it wont be fatal. Good luck!

Weird. One possibility: did you go to Bethesda Softworks' site and download the latest patch? (I'm assuming you're using the PC version.) On top of that, you may want to consider installing the Unofficial Oblivion Patch. It's meant to be added after the latest bug patch from Bethesda--and it fixes another 1800+ bugs.
Neither of these may solve your problem, but they're worth a try. Are you running any mods, currently? If so, post your list. That's another avenue to explore. Some mods can interact and have...unusual effects.
