Unofficial patch 6.2 is out!

The latest unofficial patch version 6.2 is available from its home at The Patches Scrolls: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines : Patches, Updates, Addons, Downloads (The Patches Scrolls)

Finally the Dragon's Breath has been restored with help of Lenuska. It replaces the flaming crossbow, but of course is plus patch only. Besides that the prop grenade has been exchanged with the new unused squashed Odiuous Chalice model to avoid confusing it with the real grenade. To improve compatibility of the basic patch with other mods all restored items have been removed. The rest of the fixes and changes can be read below:

+Restored Dragon's Breath available from Mercurio, thanks to Lenuska.
+Swapped Pyro Crossbow at Fu Syndicate with squashed Odious Chalice.
+Exchanged the Pyro Crossbows of temple guards with normal crossbows.
+Removed prop grenade and made Gary ask for squashed Odious Chalice.
+Raised minimum humanity for killing innocents to three like in hubs.
+Placed Glock near killed sewerworker as mentioned in his clipboard.
Restored boss flags for Chastity and Mercurio and fixed Fu terminal.
Removed restored items in basic patch to improve mod compatibility.
Corrected Phil dropping freezer passcode note and minor text issues.
Fixed grenade icon, Empire note and possible Leopold Society crash.
Removed some SM clinic ambient sounds and made Dima go wait outside.
Restored Arthur and Knox bounty hunter lines and fixed Isaac issue.
Removed some unusable Ming temple door knobs and corrected fax date.
Improved Protean claws inventory model and icon, thanks to Lenuska.

Is it only me or is the Quest "And Her Name Was Venus" broken now? The sixth floor at the Empire hotel is just totally empty :-(

Can someone reproduce this? If so, what is the value of G.Russians_Here and G.Venus_Quest?

Cannot confirm the Venus bug; worked fine for me.
2 other things to report however:
- Empire Arms Hotel: Both the book in Jezebel Locke's room and the book on the 6th floor in the room with the 3 mafia goons are now the finance manual instead of one being finance, one being brawl.
- Museum basement: The bug where the option to ask Beckett how long he's been studying vampire lore disappears if you take a few wrong turns during conversation still seems to persist.
Apart from that, great patch so far....

I can't find an error there, are you playing basic or plus?

Can you be more specific about which turns you took ;) ?

Mmmh ok, I'll start a new char next week again and will control if the bug is still there :)

EDIT:
Ok, my Empire Hotel problem is connected to the duplication of the "No means no" book. As soon as I get the book the first time from Jezebel's room the 6th floor gets empty. I have to pick up the duplication of the book on the 6th floor, leave the building and when I reenter, the 6th floor is back to normal again including the right book.

Glad to see you doing more patches!

IF you had some time :laugh: (I'm sure you are very busy, just like the rest of us), would it be possible for you to finally do something like a final Change Log, perhaps something similar to this?

While you do have the read me changes, it is kind of confusing what you DID add and then cut, then added back etc...

While time consuming.. it would be neat if you could update such a thing (or include it in your read-me's). Just a suggestion.

Anyways, thank you for these great patches! They really add so much!

Very strange, maybe python can't handle same item names. I will try to fix that. As for the changelog, at the end of the current readme is a version sorted by criteria and locations which should include all important changes.

I was coming here for help on this very same problem. I've picked up both books (the one from Jezebel's room and the one on the empty 6th floor) but I still have no Boris and no bodyguards.

It's definitely related to the books. I put both of them in my storage chest in my haven and went back to the Empire hotel and everything was as it should be, with Boris and the bodyguards there. At least they were until I drained them dry. :devil:

Thanks a lot for your continuing work on these great patches!

and does anyone know if the "A dish best served cold"-quest is at all possible for Malkavians without Dementation? I have Persuasion 10 and I can select the persuading dialogue line but then I cannot convince him to write a bad review, he simply says "you are wasting my time" no matter which dialogue line (of the 2 possible ones) I take ... of course, both lines are typically malkavian ...

P&P mod

so i added the P&P/clan mod by offkorn... its the current version, 2.10, and i cannot create a character in the "added" clans. is that a result of the new patch? is there a work around?

If you want to play the PnP mod, you need to install it on top of the unofficial basic patch! The other way around will not work...

I have just started playing this game again and have not used any unofficial patches yet, I have vista 64 and was wondering do I just overwrite the original files and folders in C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision|(GameName). I am asking this because i noticed that if I do that there will be some files in the original that won't be there after overwriting with the patch folders or is supposed to be that way. Thanks for any help in advanced.

The patch will not delete original folders, it will only add some.
