A Few Questions About Familiars

Post by ilovejawsus »

I would like to summon a familiar, but I would like to know certain things first.

Is feeding your familiar required? If you go a certain amount of time without feeding it, will someting happen? Also, how do you feed your familiar?

I read on the internet that there are a few glitches that cause you to lose your familiar, such as when you exit a certain area. If your familiar is in your backpack will it be safe from this glitch?

Are there any other things that I should know about the care of a familiar?

No feeding required.

Yes.

Different alignments get different familiars, and they have various benefits. You might want to search on "familiar" in this forum. Or I imagine if you wait a bit, somebody will cut and paste that material. ;)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Dan Simpson covers this (among many other unwritten rules) in his SOA/TOB walkthrough. Sorcerer's Place - Baldur's Gate 2 Walkthrough & Guide Index

Thank you for the information. Now if you will excuse me, my True Neutral Elf Mage has a rabbit to summon.
