Baldurs Gate ((ended up with french copy)) + converting game to english
Recently I recieved a copy of Baldurs Gate 1 and Tales of the Sword Coast as a gift then during install I found out its in french is there anyway I can get it converted to english such as downloading or swapping a few files so that it is in english?
I can't help you with your problem but it has inspired me to buy a French version of Baldur's Gate on ebay. I always meant to get round to learning the language and what better way than to start with useful phrases like "I know dragons with feet like rabbits, 'tis true I swear!"

I just bought the French version and found that it also has English, Spanish and Italian versions included on the BG1 disc. However, ToSC is a version that will only play in the US and Canada. Oh well, I never much enjoyed fighting those werewolves and I don't suppose it gets any easier just because they are talking French instead of English.Neodraven wrote:Recently I recieved a copy of Baldurs Gate 1 and Tales of the Sword Coast as a gift then during install I found out its in french is there anyway I can get it converted to english such as downloading or swapping a few files so that it is in english?

To keep the theme going, I bough an English language version boxed set of BG, ToSC, BG2 and Tof B. I live in France, and my PC runs under a french version of Windows XP. Of the 4 games, all operate fine except ToSC which tells me that it cannot install because the language of the operating system is not compatible ..... Europe's a wonderful thing ! Who needs werewolves anyway !

My ToSC version also only works in USA and Canada, but if you use the patches available at Bioware then you can play it in the UK. I presume that the other patches would have the same effect for the french version though that would be a matter of trial and error.Eldoth wrote:I just bought the French version and found that it also has English, Spanish and Italian versions included on the BG1 disc.
