*~*Spoiler*~* The 4th level of the Nosferatu Warrens ! ;)

Post by Lunaida »

This is my first time playing the game and my character is a female Ventrue. I try to play the game as non-combative as possible so I was pretty upset when I read the walkthrough of the 4th level of Nosferatu Warrens and saw it mentioning that this level is the most combative of them all...
However, upon entering it I found out that it was actually the easiest one and I even didnt have to engage in combat once! I just went on sneaking all the way to the end of the level without being seen once, and my sneaking feat was only 3 ;)
Soooo, if you dont like to play this level combatively just try to sneak around

Wow I'm impressed, as I was a male ventrue with a fair amount of sneaking ability (don't remember exactly how many points) and I had to fight through the whole place (I try to avoid combat too :( ). Those freaky looking spider thingies with the hole in their gut detected me, without fail, every single time I tried to get by 'em; the only way I ever snuck by them was to go behind them when they patrol (and not all of them do that).
I could just have lead feet or you're a regular Sam Fisher friend :p .

Well, stealth got you through one of the hardest parts in the game.

The first time I played Bloodlines was with a Ventrue and I didn't spend much experience on sneaking. Ventrues don't have Obfuscate AND on top of that can't feed on rats which comes in very handy while in the Warrens.

Lets just say, I spent a good amount of time running around getting my ass kicked by those giant deformed spider-crackmonkeys. Good thing I gave Mercurio a visit and bought a Spaz and an Anaconda before the Warrens.
I may have never passed it if I didn't.

Actually, I played a male Toreador, and I didn't think I had spent too many points in Stealth, but I managed to sneak my way past most of the guys in this level. Well, except for one of the troll-ish chaps, who kept trying to throw his green slowdown attack at me THROUGH his patrol partner, constantly damaging the poor chap.

I am beginning to wonder if my character is somewhat odd or what too !
I sneaked all the way through the guys in the Society of Leopald too ! The guys would just say 'who's there?' but couldnt see me even if they were standing in front of me !
I had the sneaking feat of 3 and was wearing the first armor that you can buy in the game, the one that reduces no points from Dexterity :D
I wonder if I can get past the Sabbats the same way, cause that is where I am heading next !

Don't get too excited about the Society of Leopold, as I was able to sneak through that whole thing real easy. I would be crouching out in the open, in the middle of a very well lit room and they never suspected a thing  .
Stealth is amazingly overpowered in this game, even when you have little points invested in the actual skill, helluva lot easier than killing everyone... Actually I take that back because I did kill everyone, they were just stealth kills :D .

I encourage you to try, but keep a sword handy. There are quite a few vampires in that building, and sneaking is somewhat less effective against them that it is against humans.

Every time i try to sneak throught the warrens it all just turns into a backwards-running, anaconda-fanning mess. I guess I'm just hopeless at stealth, i better shape up, cuz i wanna run a Nos next time throught the game ~_~

I never used stealth, but I actually ran through there. With a pre-planned route to get the access card then into the computer room. I was using Celerity 5 and still had to empty my Odious Chalice, but after so much hassle in Warrens 1-3 it's good to just get it over with. Also it works since there are no useful items worth finding. The big multi-armed she-beasts are really slow but there are some parts where you'll be killed without celerity.

Aside from Nosferatu, I played for every clan and while Malkavians and their Obfucate and Vision of Death make the level quite easy, Celerity 5 is the real fun. Just running past those creatures and hearing them chase after you and pant and drool gives me the giggles. I didn't have to fight one of them, got the key and ran straight to the large room. A Spider-creation ran after me, then went away and that was it.

Sneaking never really worked for me there, since those headrunners kept butting in each time.

Especially as some of them can use Auspex to notice you while sneaking and even when being Obfuscated!
