I wanna ask...

Post by Magroth »

... if there's any mods out there which can alter the visuals on my player character, the thing that's bothering me is that on both my kensai/mage and my fighter/mage robes aren't visable. I wear the Robe of Vecna or w/e the name is on both my chars, but it doesn't show on the character. Pressumingly because I'm a fighter AND a mage. It would look so much cooler if they did show. I would really appreciate suggestions from someone, thanks... :)

If you just want to change your character's appearance, you can do it in Shadowkeeper. Load the save game and on the 'appearance' tab you can set it.

It's not a mod, it's a saved game/character editor. Also, if you don't want to download it, you can enable the cheat console type in "CLUAConsole:EnableCheatKeys()" and then cycle through the appearances by pressing the control key and pressing the correct numbers (eight and nine I *think*to go forward and back).

I have downloaded it and I have found my save game and I changed my PC to Mage Elf Female, but when I load up the game I can't find the game save which is created with the changes... Anyone know why?

You must save a game when you edit your character. You save the game in Shadowkeeper.E.g. if your original game is 'Amn', then your newly created game will be called 'Amn (Edited 001)'.

This I know, I choose Open Single Player Game with SK>[My save]>I make the changes I want>I save it in SK and name it [Whatever]>I start up BG and select single player, but the only saves there are the unedited one.

So, what I do wrong? :S

Magroth,

You can change your appearance through Shadowkeeper, but it's kind of a hassle and when you put your imported characters back into your party they lose all of their history. Like % of kills in party, % of experience in party, hardest monster killed, etc. Also, I've found that sometimes when I level up or load a game, it reverts back to my old model.

My advice would be to check out the BG2 Tweak Pack and install that. Under cosmetic changes you can get an avatar morphing script and change all of your models in game whenever you want. And if for some reason the game resets your model, you can just re-change it.

The only thing you'll need to look out for is making sure yor party AI is ON and the avatar morphing script is enabled on your particular character. It will explain the process in the readme, however.

G3: BG2 Tweak Pack Overview

Just my two cents.

This all sounds like too much haze for some minor looks ingame that's barely visible... Thanks for all the good replies though. :)

Instead of making a new thread I'll just ask here... thing is I wanted to be able to make a multiplayer party, but I am unable to start a MP game, the game freezes and so it says Not responding... Anyone familiar with this problem? Is it because I have some mods that alters the game alittle? Alternatively is there a other way to import MP chars to your SP game?

I've been doing some testing and it seems like MP works when I DONT run the game as administrator, though if I don't the game crashes everytime I equip an item. Really strange stuff, anyone got a clue how to bypass this? I really wanna be able to make my own party.

In the same mod, there is optional content that makes the game change your avatar when you equip a certain armor type. A bit less clunky than the Morphing Script.
