Assistance please

I am trying to begin playing Heart of Winter, Icewindale played fine and the install of HoW went fine as well. Yes, I have vista and playing on a dual core. When I begin the game I am told that I don t have the icewindale disc in. ?????

No need to be snarky Darth Malignus. I think we can safely assume that the OP does have the disc in, hence why s/he has come here for help.

As you may be aware, there are some well known problems with trying to play older games on Vista, you might try checking [url="http://forums.pocketplane.net/index.php?topic=25779.0"]this[/url] page for solutions.

Note: one thing I do remember from playing HoW and IWD is that if you are using the HoW disc to try and boot the game it won't work, you do need the vanilla disc to do that. So, just a thought to eliminate all possibilities.

Thanks for the tip(s), I will give them a try. computers not my strong point but I will figure this out. I appreciate the help, let you know how I did. BTW, Dragon wench, great quote!! Thanks again for the response.

I had the same problem and was able to solve it by running the game as administrator. You might also notice that after this your previous saves might not be accessible anymore. Don't panic though, I was able to fix that part also. Let us know what is going on.
