Some of the early-game restrictions annoy me; such as not being able to get into Fargrove after acquiring a moonstone, until after taking Galrdryn's Horn to Talyndor. So, I climb - and I get as many class promotions as I can before returning to the north woods, to enter Fargrove through the sewers.
Of course, by then, I'm at about level 30, and have access to the Vale of Ruin - the sewers are easily explored and conquered.
For example, my current character was a samurai/battlemage, had completed the mage and eastern house quests (the ones that precede third tier quests), acquired a moonstone, and had access to all moon bridges before returning to the northern woods to access the sewers. (I had even done "some" training - Intellect was at 114.)
Does anyone else take advantage of climbing this way?
The reason I do it, is because I hate "wasting" advance points - especially when I can just do some climbing, and run to farm moonbeasts to achieve my target training level.
Early Climbing (full of spoilers, if anyone cares)
I just discovered the trick of climbing around to reach Fargrove AFTER getting a moonstone on my current game. I have played the game at least 20+ times and find something new EVERY time I play. That is what I love about this game.
I will now take advantage of this trick,so I can go ahead and get all my classes done early and not waste points. I am currently playing a Ranger/Battlemage, which will only allow you to get to Battlemage before you do the Trial of the Elders.
