Making a Warwitch

Post by GawainBS »

I'm planning on an Adept/Mage/Enchantress/Battlemage/Warwitch. I like the mix of weaponry and most magic types. I care most about Divine, some Runic, and Arcane.
Should I choose an Elf or Human? I know Elves get more INT, which translates to faster/cheaper Magic skills, but they have such a horribly low Vitality...

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

I'd go ahead with an elf. It will be tougher in the lower levels, but once she's trained up - well, they can't kill what they can't touch. :mischief:

I don't think it really matters which one you pick. Once you get to Warwitch, you're pretty much unstoppable. The human, though, is a little more versatile in every category. The elf is a little more specialized.

Anyway, Warwitch is the best class to get into, as far as I'm concerned! Good luck.

I'm in line with the 'play an elf' lot. My reasoning is, however, that elfs are the better climbers. :)

Would you care to explain that? :)

Of course. :)

For me, climbing around the landscape* is an important feature in the game, and I've noticed that different characters are differently well suited for that task. Elfs and Dwarfs and Thralls make very good climbers; however, the best climbers yet are the elfs, in my experience, while urgoths are too slow with their backfilps, they keep sliding back down a slope. My ideal climbing 'recipe' is: No Acrobat heraldry, athletics skill between 6 - 12, light armour, and holding a shield and an elven spear or a fangtip sized sword. My recent elf valkyrie gets up almost anywhere in her leather armour.

Edit:

You can also climb up into the rafters in the Fargrove Inn and in the Naga temple, and you can climb up on top of Talendor and the Shadow Ruins. (See screenshot)

* there are a number of interesting short cuts that a skilled climber can take in the game, see the white markers on the attached map.

Thanks. I never heard of someone judging them on their climbing capability, that's all.
