Romance, Female, Mods .... Any advice?

Post by Jordoo »

I just finished running through with Amber, and I was looking for advice on another romancable female MOD. Anyone have any favorites or recommendations.

Thanks
:) Once again time to give someone the boot to make room for Coran. LOL :)

Fade, another romanceable tea-leaf, excellent mod, you can find her here.

Tashia, a sorceress, can be found here. Another very good mod.

Saerileth you already know about.

Thanks Galraen.
Any insight into the de'Arnise or Imoen romance MODs, have you tried them?
Fade sounds really interesting but I'm not sure I want to jump into another tiefling relationship just yet, LOL.

I second the Fade recommendation, she's a very well done character and fits into the game nicely.

If you can stomach Nalia, you could try the de Arnise Romance. I normally play female PCs, so I don't know what it is like, but it has received quite a number of favourable reviews from what I understand.

The de'Arnisse romance mod works well, my only complaint is they didn't replace her insane battle-cry or whinging.about not helping the poor when you're liberating her home.

I haven't tried the incest mod (Imoen romance).

Hmmm, I guess its all in how you look at it. I doubt that Imoen and the PC actually share any genetic material at all. In other words its not like Bhaal was running around in the same physical form creating Bhaal spawn. As far as growing up together in Candlekeep I was under the impression that the PC was Gorian's ward and Winthrup took care of Imoen. They share some essance of Bhaal but thats it IMO. I always felt like Imoen should have been much more developed by bioware as she is basically the second most important character. If the MOD adds a freindship track with the PC and a much more developed Imoen that would probably be better than the romance IMO, not that I would be oppossed to an Imoen romance.

As far as Nalia and her battle screams, I suppose I could handle that as long as they actually develope her character in some directions besides that stuff. Its interesting that she wasn;t a romance option in the original game, seems tailor made for it. A replacement for Imoen early in the game, you save he family keep and then help to run it to keep her form having to marry some jerk. Just seems like it wouldn't have been a big leap for something to happen.

I suppose this is getting somewhat off topic...
But... I've always viewed the incest debate regarding Imoen to be something of a moot point because we are dealing with fantasy. Sure, there are parameters and pretty much every fantasy universe has its own mythology... but even so there is going to be a lot of latitude in what is possible, as well as different cultural interpretations of what constitutes incest.

Even in the real world, incest has some very different definitions depending on the culture. For example, many African societies see certain types of marriage between first cousins (depends on whether the relation is through the mother or father) as desirable. Western cultures, conversely, treat first cousin unions as incest.

Back to Imoen and player character though...
it's probably easy enough to imagine that Bhaal's divinity would negate any possible incest problems. And again, we see this in real world mythology.. we need look no further than the Greek pantheon.

Sorry for the ramble... :o

Regarding the Imoen mod itself, I have read that it is actually a bit anachronistic, and has Imoen using modern swearing and cursing.. I don't really care for anachronisms, it's one reason why I don't usually use Kelsey, so that would be my main reason for not downloading the mod.

I don't always play male NPC's, but since I am aguy when ever I play a female NPC I just can not get myself to go through with romancing Anomen. I was reading about this Chloe MOD who will romance a female PC or Imoen, maby if I was still romancing a female NPC It would keep my interest.

dragon wench,
Thanks for the Info on the Imoen Mod, definitally have to take that into consideration.

As far as the rest I completely agree with you, there are millions of ways to either role play that its not incest or if ot is there is nothing wrong with it. And the bottom line is if you feel weird about it no worries then its not for you.

I was actually wondering if I should mention Chloe.
I really like the Chloe mod, I've played it both as a female PC romance and as an Imoen romance.
Be warned though, Chloe is on the overpowered side, you might want to consider using Shadowkeeper to downgrade her stats somewhat.

Nice, thanks again. Its been a while since I've played as a female PC maby I'll give it a wirl, hey if my PC and Chloe don't hit it off then she would still add alot of party interaction with Imoen.
I was reading that its her weapons that make her overpowered more than he stats, but either way overpowered can lead to boring fights especially in the earlier parts of the game.

The incest comment was supposed to be tongue in cheek, I have the mod downloaded, just haven't played it 'cos I'm not particularly fond of Imoen (or Imowimp as I think of her).
Western cultures, conversely, treat first cousin unions as incest.
Not in England and Wales, perfectly legal here.

I've heard from several sources that Chloe is very overpowered, haven't tried her for that reason. Solaufein was bad enough, and I gather Chloe is even worse in that respect.

Amber has interested me for some time, but every time I've tried installing her it fails to install.

I played the Valen mod for a while, but dumped it because it kept causing severe problems with Watcher's Keep. The Helmites kept attacking us.

Another female mod I enjoyed playing is Yasraena. Both her, Amber and Valen can be found via Pocket Plane.

Galraen, I would definitally recomend Amber. She's a dual class fi/th at level 6 who has some special abilities and items but also some restrictions to ballance her out. Very usefull NPC but far from overpowering. I had only one minor problem with the MOD but Meira is very active on the Amber forum at G3 if you had any serious issues.
The romance was very well done and not without some big surprises. I thought that the overall developement of the romance really fit Ambers backstory and personality. Make sure you keep Imoen if you take Amber because Amber and Imoen have some pretty interesting conversations, a couple of them are among the best that the MOD adds IMO.
I really hope Amber's TOB portion is completed soon, because IMO there is alot that Amber doesn't really explain to the PC and some of it to the point of being purpossly missleading, although I do think she is completely comitted to the PC.

I don't want to spoil if for you just wanted to recomend it very highly.

:o Oops, sorry Jordoo, I meant Azure, not Amber, brain fart I'm afraid. I've played Amber a lot, and you're right, she's very good. Extremely well written mod.

Azure is a Druid, other than that I can't say as it always has failed to install.

Sorry for the confusion.

Having a tough time deciding right now:
I'm definitally going to install:
Banter Packs
NPC Flirt Packs
Cross Banter Mod
deArnise Romance
Imoen Romance
Here's the list fo NPC's I'm looking at:
Saerileth
Chloe
Fade
Tashia
Keto (I knoe not romancable)
Amber (want to do the friend track)

I am currantly torn between Saerileth and Chloe although Fade is also begging to be played. Does anyone know howmany NPC mods you can install at once?

FYI Chloe is a lesbian mod.

She is a bit overpowered considering she has a 25 in Dex. But its all good, the power gamer in me likes that.

I like Imoen but I wouldn't play the Imoen Romance. I'm not into incest.

PPG modlist is out dated. To get the current versions of Yasraena and Saerileth you can find it here.

I actually opened up a Female character of mine I had made a few years ago, and then relised I'd be facing Anomen....D'loaded the kelsey mod and I've enjoyed it the whole way through! More though from Kelsey's perspective than my characters.

I think for me its more an issue of being interested in romancing a guy, thats why I was interested in Chloe as an option for romance next time I use a female PC.

Whatever floats your boat, I suppose.

I just haven't played any serious RPGs where the protagonist falls in love with someone of the same sex, so it's really not my cup of tea.
