Hey all,
I just thought it might be handy to have a thread where people post the install order of the mods they're currently using, or have used in a previous game. This isn't about well balanced mods, as there is a sticky for that already, but about specific install orders (Though you're more than welcome to post which mods you liked/disliked and what you would use in future). Obviously we'll all be looking for orders that work without hitches, so please post if everything went/is going well and anything to watch out for.
Anyone interested in getting any of the mods need merely google the name most likely; so we'll leave that to the potential users. Though I will point out the following websites which produce mods for infinity engine games/BG where you can no doubt find whatever you need:
The Gibberlings Three
Pocket Plane Group
Chosen of Mystra
The Black Wyrm's Lair
Spellhold Studios
Now, onto the actual topic. I guess i'll start off. I've been keeping this little document, which some of you may have seen before. A fair bit of research has gone into the install orders here and it covers most of the well known and liked mods, so I hope it's a good starting point. I do have a similar thing for what I use for BG1 (tutu in my case) but I won't post that as this isn't the BG1 forum, and actually there is a very nice and comprehensive thread that covers tutu: Tutu Mod Compatibility and Order of Install - The Gibberlings Three Forums
A little note firstly: Order of installation should be maintained for best results/compatibility, obviously can skip items not wanted, e.g. if you only want to install mods in positions 1,3,5, just be sure to install IN THAT ORDER (1,3,5, not 3,5,1 or 5,3,1...always keep things in ascending order)
Check online for latest versions of every mod on every playthrough just before install to have the latest mod version!
Basic stuff needed:
1 Install BG2: SoA
2 Install TOB
3 PATCH TOB 26498 (There is a 26499 I believe, generally do NOT install 26499)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BG2 MODS:
1 Ascension (Changes ToB ending, made by lead designer/programmer of BG2!)
-Goes before fixpack since ascension 'overwrites' rather than patches a lot of stuff
2 BG2 G3 Fixpack
-don't install 'super happpy fun lucky modder pack' component
3 Spell Revisions
4 Item Revisions
-Note: Includes all 1pp components apart from:
* All Avatar Series (Human Female...) - fully compatible
* Attachable Wings - fully compatible - (this will come with SR v3 actually)
* Colourable Quarterstaves - partially compatible (main component is fine, item updating component will overwrite IR items currently)
* Flaming Short Swords - partially compatible (main component is fine, item updating component will overwrite IR items currently)
-Install Main component at this point only and then any other 'global changes' or optional ones AFTER bg2tweaks
5 1pp (changes ragdoll/inventory graphics)
Until v3 is out, do as follows, and in following order:
-extract files/folder in 1pp_v2.64_windows to Bg install (tutu or bg2) and install as normal
-extract files/folder in 1ppv3_avatars to Bg install (tutu or bg2) and install as normal
-Don't install components already installed by Item revisions/Spell revisions
6 NPC mods (The following are just a few, there are MANY more out there)
-Valen
-Kelsey
-Keto
-Kitanya
-Yasraena
7 BG2 BANTER PACK
8 Interaction expansion project (IEP)
-Use banter accelerator with 45 mins option, and note: Affects/overrides banter pack accelerator.
9 (IEP) Friendships: Such as yoshimo friendship, viconia friendship for even more dialogue!
-These are part of the IEP project, but currently as separate downloads on SHS
10 Unfinished Business (bg2 version)
-No 'restored bhaalspawn powers' IF using ascension - as that provides exactly the same
-No 'extended ToB item descriptions' if using item revisions
11 Quest Pack
-If using SCSII aswell can still install AI improvements from this as SCSII will just patch things that overlap, so no problems.
-don't install Revised Hell Trials component of Quest Pack if using OBC 'additional script fixes' component from fixpack.
12 Dungeon Be Gone - skip initial dungeon, but keep items/gold/quests you would obtain if you went through it normally.
13 Dungeon Crawl -extra quest (good mod in terms of fun/balance)
14 Assassinations -extra quests
15 Tower of Deception -extra quest (untested)
16 Wheels of prophecy (attempts to improve ToB story)
17 Throne of Bhaal revisited (attempts to improve ToB story) (In development currently)
18 Athkatlan Expansion (In development)
19 Sword coast strategems II
-Install detectable spells component
-All spell tweaks IF using smarter mages, otherwise select as wanted
-Some item tweaks, move items into ToB etc
-Gameplay tweaks:
Increase the price asked by Gaylan Baele (60k)
Recover lost items from Hell
Prevent party members from dying irreversibly
-Tactical and AI enhancements;
Install smarter mages/priests option 3, if at all, as this
component may cause lag.
Also, can enter following at start of game to stop neutral's
prebuffing:
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("DMWWNoNeutralPrebuff","GLOBAL",1)
(There should be no spaces in that above command...forum doesn't permit such a long spaceless 'word', so take care to get it right).
-install all other AI enhancements except:
Enemy mages use Simulacrum and Project Image spells
Spellcasting Demiliches
Add high-level abilities (HLAs) to SoA mages
Add high-level abilities (HLAs) to SoA priests
Improved Fire Giant Temple
Improved Sendai's Enclave
Improved Abazigal's Lair
More Resilient Trolls
Improved Faldorn
-If using SR, and want SR's genies, fiends, celestials then don't install these 3 from SCSII
-Cosmetic and Ease-of-Use Tweaks:
Remove animation from the Cloak of Mirroring (leave it for other
spells and effects that use the same graphic)
20 BG2 Tweak Pack components for BG2:
Cosmetic changes:
-Restore SoA logo
-Force All Dialogue to Pause
Content Tweaks:
-More Interjections
-Add Bags of Holding
-Bonus Merchants (Don't install if using IR, as that adds these in too and changes some items)
-Female Edwina
Convenience Tweaks and/or Cheats:
-Change Effect of Reputation on Store Prices
-Unlimited Ammo Stacks
-Unlimited Jewelry and Gem Stacks
-Unlimited Potion Stacks
-Unlimited Scroll Stacks
-Happy Patch; the option that stops characters leaving party at too high/low rep only
-Neutral characters make happy comments at mid-range reputation
Joinable NPC Tweaks:
-Improved Fate Spirit Summoning
21 Install any optional/global changes from Item revisions now
22 Ribald's Genie (some bugs in v2.7, check for new)
23 Replace any portraits as necessary in override folder!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, that covers about everything. I look forward to seeing what combinations others play with.
Also, note there is something called BWP which has a huge pdf detailing a lot of things, but it really is huge; around 178 pages last i checked. It would be worth checking out if you plan on what's called a 'mega mod' installation, i think.
Post your mod install order
I just started a new run last night, here is what I installed in order:
1. SOA full install
2. TOB full install
3. bonus CD
4. Official TOB bioware patch
5. G3 fix pack
6. PP banter pack
7. Keto
8. Saerileth
9. Shadowkeeper
I also activate the CLUA commands before starting a game.
I'm pretty new to running MOD's so I usually check all the readme files and MOD forums for any known compatability issues and off course installation order.

Once again time to give someone the boot to make room for Coran. LOL

Prune1, welcome to the GameBanshee forums.
None of this is to say that the information you provide is superfluous. But neither is the history and community GB possesses that create, discuss, and rate BG mods. Glad you could join us!
You might want to check out the lengthy BG mod reference crossroads sticky thread, that has been maintained here over more than 7 years. Also individual threads created by mod developers who helpfully come to GameBanshee, such as this one, and the many threads we've had over the years discussing mod sources, problems, and preferences, such as this one. And those are only the latest pair on the first page.Though I will point out the following websites which produce mods for infinity engine games/BG where you can no doubt find whatever you need:

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
I believe that there is a post over at either Spellhold Studios or Pocket Plane that I used when trying to figure out my mod installation order.
Basically:
Patch
BG2 Tweaks (G3)
Ascension
Improved Graphics(from some website I can't remember)
Flirt Pack
Banter Pack
Widescreen
Erm...
Maybe something else here?
BG2 Tweaks (G3)
I can't remember what mods I have installed, to tell the truth.
