Fighter Mage Cleric solo try

Post by arachna »

*Warning! There may be spoilers...*

One of my games with Aerie, I realized that she is the most "powerful" char in game. Even Edvin is not close to her greatness. At the end of BGII_ToB, she killed Melissan (and all of her minions) in seconds with only using one spell; "Holy Smite". She was wearing "amulet of power" and "robe of vecna". Holy Smite spell has a casting time of 3, so with vocalize and robe of vecna (decreases the spell casting time -4) she casts all his spell repertoire in an instant. At Cleric level20 you can see a damage of 20-80 per each holy smite with an area of 20 foot radius. with proper potions and wish spell, Aerie can hurl about 12 holy smite spell in a turn which makes an areal damage of 240-960 damage (if they save vs spell than 120-480). I was very surprised when i saw her destroy every evil-being on sight.

So i decided to make a char, stronger than Aerie.

I always wanted to make a solo run in BG2. I did it in BG1, IWD1 & IWD2. With the same character in all games. Her name is Arachna. She is an exiled half drow - half human (Half-elf).

I've finished my solo play with her in BG1. It was an exiting game. At the begining of the game i tried so hard to make a good roll for extraordinary stats. I wanted to have more than 90 total, about 3 hours of rolling i found these;

Arachna, Half-Elf, Chaotic Evil, Female
Str: 18/50
Dex: 17
Con: 18
Int: 18
Wis: 14
Cha: 11
TOTAL: 96 (She is a godchild you know)

She is a Fighter/Mage/Cleric. She is exiled. She lived a hard life in Underdark, and escaped. So i made her chaotic EVIL!. And it was my mistake at the start of the game. I realized that mistake at the very end of BG1. I was wanting to cast "holy smite" in BG2, but it is only for good clerics! Instead of that i have Unholy Blight! I dont want to cheat the game so i continued my journey with Evil alignment.

First levels in BG1 is a real headache, but after her Thac0 gets lower and kill Basilius and get his warhammer everything changed in a good way. I was always using wand of summoning, with lots of summons around my enemies it was a little bit easy to kill even Sarevok himself. Enough for BG1 adventure. Here is my ending stats:

Str: 19
Dex: 18
Con: 19
Int: 19
Wis: 17
Cha: 12

The main reason of making this char is, casting spells in an instant. With "amulet of power" and "robe of vecna" and lots of cleric-mage spells, she can hack the hell out her way. I wanted her to change "chaotic good" at the end of the game, because i need that "Holy Smite" spell. I hope i can do that..

For weapon proficiencies;
War Hammer + (She has a long way to Crom Faer)
Flail ++ (of ages)
Mace ++ (of disruption)
Sling ++ (of Everard)

After Irenicus finished his torture, Imoen came, i remove her, rescue Minsc & Jaheira and remove them too. After clearing my way to second dungeon level, i removed Joshimo from party, cleared the area, and go to the exit..

to be continued..

I know what your saying about Aerie I played through with just her and my Fighter/Theif multi and in no time they were unstoppable.

If your going to hack your alignment you might as well hack you proficiencies. *** two weapon style and ** in flail so you can dual FOA and the Defender of Easthaven for the early part if the game (actually there is no need to ever use Crom really).

Your character will be very powerfull pretty quickly since its esencially playing a 3 person party. I tend to get board everytime I try to solo and then I always keep Imoen. Oh well.
:) Once again time to give someone the boot to make room for Coran. LOL :)
