if you're looking for Travin, the stupid thief from the second quest for the church, he doesn't appear sometimes even though you go at night in the slums. He didn't appear for me, I cast Detect Evil and he was in the list. I even cast true sight to be able to detect him because I knew where he was supposed to be. Now what I did is that I saved my game straight down from the northern gate(where he was supposed to be), loaded it and then, taddam!!!!! he was right there, in the middle of my party, waiting for me to treaten him.
