Can't patch
I recently noticed that KotOR isn't installed on my computer, I can't even find any files, but I can still play the game. The only problem is that I can't patch the game.
I'm worried somthing will happen if I install the game, like my savegames disappear.
Does anyone know why this is and how to patch it without installing?

Who I am is not important, my message is.

It didn't ask you where you wanted it installed? Odd. Try this: right-click on the launch icon, and select properties. It should at least tell you where the base directory is.

If it doesn't have files, you can't play it. So if you can play it, it still resides on your computer. Bring up Windows Explorer, and search from there. The Revanchist wrote:I only have a shortcut, and when you right-click you don't get the option properties.
I forgot to tell that I installed the game years ago and it's still on my computer, just without any files.

I just right-clicked on a shortcut icon for another game. Then I clicked on the tab at the top marked Shortcut--and on the line entitled Target, it listed to full directory address to where that shortcut resided. If you're running XP, that should work for you, and tell you where your files are.

The files must be there. Somewhere. As fable pointed out, it is impossible to run a game if you don't have the prerequisite files installed. Try delving into the Add/Remove programs. Its called something else in Vista, i cant recall what, but should be located in the control panel. From there you should be able to see if KOTOR is installed on your hard drive.
