Questions about the ending *spoilers*
I just finished the game with the Anarchs ending, and I'm slightly confused about two things. First, how did Jack get into the sarcophagus, and when? Second, and I'm fairly sure about this but just wanting some confirmation, I take it that the figure behind Jack at the end was an ancient, and I'm guessing Jack didn't know it was there? If so, damn it, why did they have to kill Jack? He was awesome...

Well, Jack is a crafty and very old vampire, first of all, keep that in mind. I'm sure he'd have an easy time fighting all of the games' bosses at once. The figure behind him, a lot of people assume that is is the taxi driver, who is really Caine himself.
Also, we do not know that Jack actually dies.

I think Jack opened the sarcophagus on the Dane, placed the C4 in it and stole the mummy inside and the key at the same time.Mythos1092 wrote:First, how did Jack get into the sarcophagus, and when?
The figure in the end is the taxi-driver and he planned all of this together with Jack. If you use the unofficial patch you will hear a restored comment of Jack that confirms this.I take it that the figure behind Jack at the end was an ancient, and I'm guessing Jack didn't know it was there?
But when you find the sarcophagus on the Dane it is (and stays) open and, obviously, it wasn't filled with the C4's at that moment, I don't think anybody wouldn't notice one helluva charge of explosives inside a coffin when investigating a scene of a crime.Wesp5 wrote:I think Jack opened the sarcophagus on the Dane, placed the C4 in it and stole the mummy inside and the key at the same time.
That means Jack should have placed the explosives later, my guess is that either he placed them in the museum, closed it and later the Giovanni's stole it and the Kuei-Jin stole the key, or that he was the one who stole the sarcophagus from the museum and made sure that the Giovanni's "found" it already with its new contents and that the Kuei-Jin conveniently "found" the key.
And so I left...

Oh yeah, right! I completely forgot about the end of the world if it was opened and that Gehenna stuff, ha, ha, ha! If it was opened it would have lost its collector's value.GuiOhm wrote:IIRC only its crate is open, not the sarcophagus itself.
Forget what I said earlier then (although the post will remain there ), then Jack, yes, he did it, he did the whole thing! Peace out.

Ohhhh... I thought that maybe there was an ancient in there with Messerach and someone on the Dane opened it and let him out (explaining all the blood everywhere) and then later Jack opened it and took Messerach out. So I take it Jack was responsible for all that blood on the Dane?
EDIT: I actually was using the unofficial patch, although I'm fairly sure I was using an older version (not sure why) and I was only using the basic. I just got 6.3 and picked the plus option, so next time I beat the game I guess I'll see the comment. Hmmm, now I wonder which clan I should pick... I think I'm going to be a Tremere.

Remember that Jack was (still is?) a pirate. BTW, I wonder what Jack's humanity level is after killing the innocent crew members...
Also, after you visit the museum Jack says something like: "Besides getting the sarcophagus and getting into it are two different things." So he knew about the "missing" key.
I've wondered how the key got into KJ hands: did Jack surreptitiously give it to them or could the "Asian dude" in Santa Monica have stolen it from the ED?
Also, I don't understand why the Chang brothers said that my presence in the Giovanni crypt is a "violation of our leaders agreement." Wasn't the agreement for the Cam and the KJ to work together against the anarchs? Aren't the Giovanni a neutral party in the VTM world? How does my being there violate the agreement?

You guy's really need to play a Malkavian. There is a reason they are as insane as they are, and your char outright calls jack a demon in begining for your question about his humanity. I also always thought that the guy that appears at the end behind jack was the leader of the tremere in la.
Ask about the free arsenic
Well...i think that Jack got into the Elisabeth Dane, killed the hole crew and got Messerach out...the person behind Jack at the end is certanly the cabbie, who i highly belive is Caine, has all odds point to it, and the malkavian character recognises the cabbie has Caine...about the ED crew, i had another theory, wich was that Messerach was the one who killed the crew, Jack got him out and after all those years he was surely bloodthirsty and killed the crew...but i dont think thats possible, if he was an Antedeluvian he would bring Gehena...so he is probably a Ghoul and Jack killed everyone...but theres also something that made me think jack said "Threw that sarcoufghas out there and they just torn then selfs a part to get it"hmmm...it makes it look like JACK HAD the sarcoufghas, and puted near Ankara where it was found...just like for fun ...jacks jack xD...it really looks like the sarcoufghas was Jacks, Messerach is a ghoul or he is a kindred but NOT antedeluvian, maybe in the past jack putted him there long time ago or somethin like that???(yeah i know some of my toughs looks really stupid i know ^^...i just like to consider all chances)

I don't think that Jack was in the sarcophagus, but he did do all the damage to get to it, like kill all the people on the Elizabeth Dane. And he did get into it, etc. while he was there to do all the damage. Brujah, but nature, are strong. All Jack had to do was scratch up the inside of the sarcophagus, and then close it up, with the key, and get out of Dodge. He probably did all of this around the court, where your sire buys it, and you talk to the Prince. And then learn the ropes with him. He later leaves, and shows up a little later at the Last Round. Anyway, what he does in between, I don't know, but I can tell you every time it does go missing, I have the feeling it's Jack vs. the Prince in all of this. I think the truce between the Cammies and Keui-jin was set up to allow for the Keui-jin to later steal the sarcophagus, and get it back to the Prince. I think that Jack gave the Keui-Jin the key in the mean time, so that it won't be readily opened before everyone is done manipulating you all the way around.
Ok, I know I'm sounding paranoid here, but, well, it's my mind, and I tend to see a bit more than some people do when it comes to things like this.
