After killing Alhoon in the Mind Flayers area of the sewers I have acquired the Wand of Wonder. It's decribed as a wand that produes random effects. In a way it sounds fun, but can probably produce as many problems as solutions...
Has anyone used it and could they share their experience?

It's a great and useful want. If memory serves, it has five effects:
Web
Fireball
Stinking Cloud
And Lightning Bolt
If your wand's target is an object, such as a chest, or a dropped item, your character will cast all four spells in quick succession, using only one charge.
I'm pretty sure that there's a Stoneskin and Haste somewhere as well, but they're not part of the alternate fire sequence.

“The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially.”
There are eight effect with the WoW:
1. Fireball 12%
2. Lightning Bolt 12%
3. Haste on target 12%
4. Petrify Target 12%
5. Stinking Cloud 12%
6. Web 12%
7. Increase target strength by 4 14%
8. Stoneskin on target 14%
So 60% are 'good', as long as you're not in the area of effect, or in the case of petrification you don't want what the target is carrying. I've read somewhere that a wild mage is more likely to get a 'good' effect, I haven't been able to verify this though.

In my opinion, the wand is intended for other classes that can use wands, such as a Monk. I usually try to go for the Stoneskin effect in that case. Nonetheless, the four consecutive spell cast is pretty powerful in SoA.
