Need advice please

Post by mahamutt »

Hi all!

I´ve just finished SoA and started ToB.

My current party is:

Me (berserker/mage), Minsc (w FoA and CF), Keldorn, Jaheira, Aerie (romance) and Jan jansen.

I was thinking about adding Sarevok, either for history purpose as for adding an extra fighter, as 3 mages are too slow IMO (slow in terms of buffing them every time I wake up).

So I was thinking in replace Jan for Sarevok and them dual him to thief. I think he would level really fast.

So any advice? Is it a good idea?

Thank you all!!! :D

Minsc, Keldorn, Jaheira and your PC are all frontliners IMO you really don't need another one. If you really want Sarevok you'd be looking at dumping either Minsc or Jaheira IMO. Aerie is your only Cleric, Jan your only theif, can't dump your PC, Keldorn offers true sight and dispell magic which Sarevok will not bring to the party. Jaheira isn't as necessary as a cleric but does add some great druid spells as well as your basic divine spells. What I'm saying is if you must have him I would drop Minsc and if you can't let Minsc go then I'd drop Jaheria.

I understand what your saying about dueling Sarevok but with 5 other characters in the party even though theives level fast your talking about playing through most of TOB before gettinghis fighter level active again and Jan as a multi classed Il/Th is many times more powerfull and usefull than a Sarevok as a theif way behind on levels.
:) Once again time to give someone the boot to make room for Coran. LOL :)

+1, except the only one I'd drop for Sarevok is Minsc, I would however us SK to turn Sarevok into the Berserker he should be and not dual class him, nasty tank or what?

I liked the idea of kicking Jaheira.
Keldorn or Jan (w/ UAI) could help Aerie on ressurections (with rod of ressurection). But, would Aerie be able to be the only healing source of my group?
Or is it possible to find some rods or staffs of healing throught ToB?

Healing? There are about 500more healing and superior healing potions than you need, use em. I usually have a Heal spell memorized by my cleric and maby an odd heal minor, medium, critical wounds spell but with all the regenering rings and equipment plus potions I really don;t use Clerics in the healing role, I use them as buffers, undead chunkers and offensive spell casters. If you have Aerie you can combine her divine and arkane spells to make her as powerfull as any fighter.

Just thought of somethingt else. You can summon Deva's or Palanter's to heal the party as well. I think Palanter's have 3 heal spells and Deva's have some cure serious/critical wounds.

Galraen and Jordoo

Thank you! :)

I did this: kicked Jaheira. As Jordoo said, ToB gives too many healing potions. And Aerie is a great healer too.

I also got the Deva and, as Jordoo said, he can help me too. :D

Complete agreement. Sarevok over Minsc, any day. And you really should hear the party banter between Jan and Sarevok. :D
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
