No two-weapon fighting?!

Post by EtherImp »

I played BG2 a few years ago, and my character class of choice has always been Ranger... mainly because of two weapon fighting.

I've decided to pick up a copy of BG1, finish the game, and take my character to BG2 and run that all the way through as well. But, after selecting proficiencys (1 in short swords, 2 in long, 1 in bow) and attempting to buy a short sword, bastard sword, and dual wield them, I've found no way to do this in the game.. Also it seems there's no way to choose whether I wish to use my Bastard Sword 1 handed or 2.

Am I missing something here? Is there a way to do this? A mod that seamlessly integrates this feature into the game, perhaps?

Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Bg 1 original doesn't have 2 weapon fighting. Download Tutu, this takes all features of bg 2 to bg 1.

Got a link or should I search it? Am I going to have to start a new game to use it or will it integrate everything automatically?

*Edit:

Just read up a bit on Tutu.. I loaned my BG2 CD's out to a friend until I finished BG1. I guess I'll have to get them back from him sooner than expected.

If you still have Bg 2 and TOB on your computer, you can (I think) install a TOB version of Tutu so you can use your TOB cd.

Just installed TuTu and got it working fine. Game looks great. One problem remains:

When carrying a bow in one of your quick-weapon slots, it disables your ability to carry a shield, or make use of a two handed weapon, or use two weapon fighting.

I believe I used to have a mod which allowed you to set up weapon "setups", where you press a hot-key and it automatically switches to a different weapon setup. IE - 1hWeapon/Shield, 2h Weapon, 1hWeapon, 1hWeapon/offhand, Bow.

Anyone happen to know the name of this mod?

I think that for Tutu like SOA the game pauses when you enter the backpack/inventory screan and you can change weapons around that way, but you cannot change armor during battle.
:) Once again time to give someone the boot to make room for Coran. LOL :)

I understand that.. What I want is a "fast" way to switch weapons setups without having to enter the inventory screen.

that sounds like the way weapon slots were configured for iwd2, i've never heard of it as a mod.

I've read somewhere of a mod that completely takes the IWD 2 ruleset and interface to the BG 2 universe. So you might want to look for that one.
