Question: containers, loot from Watcher's Keep:

Post by mattc »

I'm still early in SoA (Chapter 3). I made a visit to Watcher's Keep (nice!). But I'm about ready to go back to the main story.

I've picked up some so-far-useless stuff that I assume will become important later in the Keep. I'm very tempted to drop it in a container there in the Keep so I don't have to drag it back and forth.

Examples (spoiler hidden):
Spoiler
A couple of wardstones, a couple of horns, a circlet, a poison flail head, lots of notes from Lum.
I've got a couple of questions:

a) is there anything on the first two floors of the Keep that I can give to that super-smith dwarf in The Docks and get something cool while I'm still in SoA?

b) is it safe to drop something in a container and come back chapters later? What about transitioning over to Throne of Bhaal, will container contents be preserved through that transition also?

Thanks for any replies.

Watcher's Keep is the only place that is accessible from both SoA and ToB, and the containers are safe.

I can't think of anything in level one or two that Cromwell can upgrade off hand unless you have the Weimer-ItemUpgrade mod installed. Otherwise I think you have to wait until you gt to ToB to get them upgraded.

Thanks, galraen. I left the junk there with Yakman, I'm sure he'll keep a good eye on it for me.

You can upgrade alot of the stuff you find in the keep, but not until TOB and someone new does the ubgrading for you. If you leave stuff in the chests and cabinits in the first room on the first level of Watchers Keep it will still be there in TOB. I asume that all containers in the keep are safe like this but I've only ever used the ones in that first room.
:) Once again time to give someone the boot to make room for Coran. LOL :)

There's a mod that allows Cromwell to upgrade ToB items -G3 Tweaks IIRC- you can try that out if you think it wont unbalance your game.

The G3 Tweaks mod has been superceded by G3's BG2 Tweaks mod, which includes everything G3 Tweaks used to have, plus a lot more.

Cromwell and Caspenar can upgrade more items as well in the Item Upgrade mod. It's by Weimer, so it's pretty well-balanced and definitely well made.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
