problems is mage stronghold possible spoilers

Post by jouke1988 »

Hello,

I've been through alot of the quests inside the mage stronghold. Now the sergeant came to me, I returned towards the stronghold, the Coweld wizard appears, it looks like someone comes in but then nothing happens, there is no attacking force. How can I help this problem, I do want Morul to return and make potions for me.

Mage stronghold quest aint triggering?

Best way to attempt to fix it is reloading a previous save.
You may also try to exit and enter the sphere again.
Try to rest in the Sphere (in the first chamber, where quest mobs appear)
Be sure to check mods compatibility if you installed any (its a common source of problems)
Download Fixpack

If still nothing happens (and you're sure that you made everything right so far and a correct amount of time has passed) then you can try to spawn the NPC(s) by yourself, it should trigger the event correctly.

CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("XXX")

In place of XXX insert the code of the NPC you want. (You can find the correct one by using shadowkeeper)
I aint sure which NPC you need, cause i cant recall names of Lord Ketlaar Argim assassins, but i will look for them if your problem will remain unsolved.

(The mage who gives you quests - Teos - has MGTEOS01 code try spawning him first)

Edit : The main assassin is "Sergeant Natula" i believe. Code - MGASS01 .
Other possible codes are MGASS02 - Tyrian and MGASS03 - Vilhelm.

If you kill Lord Ketlaar in incoming quest instead of imprisoning him Morul WONT show up

IF and i mean IF reloading a previous save, resting in sphere and/or entering it again wont work..

Quoted from "Sorcerer's Place"
Unlocking cheats

Enter the Baldur's Gate II directory (i.e. C:/Program Files/Black Isle/Baldur's Gate 2) and find the baldur.ini file. (Should be in the main Black Isle folder.)
Double click on it, and the .ini file will open in Notepad. Scroll down in the file until you reach the heading Program Options, and underneath, you should find a list of commands with numbers following (i.e., BitsPerPixel=16, Acceleration=0, etc.). Begin a new line anywhere under the Program Options heading, and write the command line: Debug Mode=1. (If this doesn't work in your game, write Cheats=1 under [Game Options] instead.)

This will tell the game to accept cheats and you will be able to enter the console. Save this file and exit. Now start the game and open the console prompt by pressing Ctrl and the space bar. Console cheats must be entered exactly as they are written below.
Once you open the console type (exactly as written below)
CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("MGTEOS01") and press Enter.

If event still wont work, open the console again and type

CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("MGASS01") - and press enter
CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("MGASS02") - again press enter
CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("MGASS03") - and... enter

I hope this will work ;)

I gave it a try but it doesn't help. The tree people apear, I talk to them, kill them but then Teos doesn't return, and if I try to summon him, he does a Shadowdoor and doesn't come back again. So any more options?

Cast haste on one of characters or equip boots of speed -> Pause -> Summon Teos via console -> Talk to him before he gets away.

My game buggs quite often (due to conflict of tactical mods) and quest NPCs like Teos tend to escape before i can talk to them. I use this "solution" on a regular basis ;)
