big ps3 goty main quest glitch

i was doing the main quest and got to the bit where I had to get to gwinas to buy the book. the book guy said to go to the tiber septim hotel. i got there, went in and loads of shivering isles characters were attacking some ghosts. my map marker pointed me to outside of the imperial city. i went there, but noone was there! any help?

Because the PS3 version of Oblivion lacks the console, your best bet would be to reload from a prior save.

Once you've spoken to the book seller you don't go anywhere, wait for an hour and Gwinas shows up to collect the book. You can then talk to him about it before he leaves the shop.

As loki says, the only way out of it is to reload a save from before talking to the book seller.
