Alchemists only instantly restock ingredients in Morrowind if they have a minus amount of that ingredient. Otherwise it takes a few days.
None the less Alchemy is an easy way to make money in either game.

Wondered if anybody would remember the thread.
In Morrowind, I usually select Alchemy as a major, because otherwise I'll waste a lot of ingredients making potions before the skill rises. In Oblivion, it's a minor. At best.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Though to be honest I don't find myself doing as much alchemy in Oblivion. It's a much more enjoyable pass-time in Morrowind while in Oblivion it just feels like a bit of a chore.

Not to mention coupling the poison effects to maximize damage output. I.e You can achieve multiple types of damage with the correct ingredients making a potent poison which would technically take out any singular opponent. Add to that a Weakness to Poison spell and you have a winner. It's quite funny actually putting that into practice. Watching a not-so-innocent (facing charges over bad voice acting) NPC wear a cursed zero weight hood you reverse-pickpocketed into his inventory, and then proceed to be burned to death never gets old. Too bad that counts as a murder. Apparently the hood has got your fingerprints on it. Had great fun with an assassin character in Arcanum (using the ring you find in 'The Pond' doing that, wiped out Tarant, with the assistance of 'my' Orc army. Haven't managed to get it to work in Oblivion, although I have tried. I tend to select Alchemy as a minor in Morrowind. I'll spend the initial part of the game gathering ingredients, and usually, by the time I have huge stacks I also have a reasonable amount of gold.. so at that point I get Ajira to train me to her maximum ability (49 I believe), and then proceed to potion making. Alchemy is actually one of the only skills I train in MW, because I don't like wasting ingredients I've painstakingly gathered. Oh... and being able to train 10 sessions = 5 extra points of Intelligence when levelling... quite handy given that I generally play rogue/mage types.
As for Oblivion, that ability to coat weapons in poison is actually one of the few "improvements" they made that I actually like. It makes roleplaying a stealth character that much more enjoyable.

I have yet to find a mod that allows you to place positive enchantments on weapons. Frankly I didn't look too hard.
