Chilldren of Bhaal
Chilldren of Bhaal
Hi, I've finished the game 2 times so far, now I plan to do it with PC, Imeon and Sarevok (Children of Bhaal). What race/class should my character be to be able to solo quite a chunk of the game, could later on play well with Imeon and Sarevok and suit lore (Human then maybe?)?
Any class can solo the game, so play whatever you like.
I suggest a ranger dualed to cleric at level 7 or 9, you'll have access both to cleric and druid spells and more than 1 attack per round.
Another option is priest dualed to thief at level 9-14 (not Talos since you don't get extra attacks). This will cover both the cleric essentials (raise dead, PfE 10') and the thieving options Imoen can't provide (backstab*5, traps, HLAs). You could simply dual Sarevok to thief when you meet him instead, but this means no fighter HLAs.

I think anything would 'suit lore', whatever that means. How about a Half-Orc Cleric/Thief, if you start in BG1 (using Tutu) you could end up with 20 Strength (natural), limited number of attacks initially, but could still tank with the best of them.

Sorcerer is capable of soloing whole game without much efford (but BG1 as a mage or sorc is time consuming)
Then we have Mage/Cleric and Totemic Druid also a walk in the park.
Kensai/Mage is also a great pick, cause of the bugg that allows this class to wear robes.
Thief is also a very strong class. Bard (Blade) is the greatest of single class front tanks.
There's also Paladin .
Other then these, the game gets tougher, but never impossible.. unless you have tactical mods which change even the worst of enemy mages to have Protection from God spells at all times.
With magic AND ways to dispel enemy spells the game is much easier then without
As for race - aim for an Elf, for +1 to dex (-1 AC and ranged THAC0)

By lore I mean some background story that would connect just these characters (beside the obvious reasons), I like writing my own background.
Anyway thank for replies. I'm not so worried about the solo part, but more about the conjunction of the three characters later on. So far I'm thinking about Blade or some combination of Thief/Cleric.
And since you've mentioned BG1 (I play with Tutu), any ideas what character to pick to run through BG1 with PC and Imoen and then go on to BG2 like I've said before?

If you want to go through BG1 first, then you might want to try. Ranger/Cleric (would work well with Imoen Thief/Mage and warrior Sarevok in TOB).
Ranger is a very strong class in BG1 (BG1 is the physical, muscle part of the series ) and Cleric has a protection spell for every occasion. With globe of blades and circle of blades any melee attacker will regret picking on ya.
There you go. A strong 2 man (and later 3 man) party that lacks nothing.
The only problem you might have are atributes. Dex, Wisdom and Constitution as high as possible (18s). Strength high enough to carry heavy gear. It will be easily countered with belt of strength, ring of charisma etc. but early on you wont be able to get any of those
