Gamers! Are you male or female?

Post by Fljotsdale »

Following a discussion in another thread (about gamers being fat and depressed) I thought it might be interesting to see the proportion of male to female gamers there are in here. If you don't want to reveal your gender, you can just tick the box without giving the game away. :)

I like to think of myself as sexless. Seeing as there is no such option, I suppose male would have to do.

By the way, you could get a semi-decent idea of the ratio of male to female members on these boards by reading through the The Updated Anatomy of Gamebanshee Members.

I picked.... yep... "female" strangely enough... :p

Maybe there should be a forth option though, something like:
"I'm not sure" or.. if your name is Weasel, "I'm between surgeries" :p ;)

Hm... I thought 'Not telling' would cover those options, dragon wench... but maybe I should've been more specific.

Loki - yes, true, but a specific poll should do it faster and with less effort on my part! :p

lol! I was just kidding :D Though, you're obviously far more tactful than I am, "Not telling," is just so much more ambiguous than "Not sure." ;)

Heh! Yeah I could see it was a joke, but it made me consider the matter more, all the same. :)

BTW, I always loved "Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup". I first saw it years ago, and always wanted to use it - but wouldn't you know? - someone else always has it, whatever forum I visit! - though no! that's not quite true, come to think of it - but it may not go down too well on a cross-stitch forum!

Am I male or female? Yes.

Having now read the recent posts on the thread that provoked this one, I've now 'voted'.

By the way Siza 14 isn't fat, cuddly may be, but not fat; unless your 4' tall of course, but then you'd probably have a beard and be swinging a mean axe! :D

I did this before. Everyone went for the third option. Though I think I had something different... Probably "both".

See, more and more people want that both/sexless option. It seems gamers don't care much for gender.

I chose male because I am one. Don't need any further elaboration.
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. Ehhh ... how about 5' tall? That's still makes for pretty darn over-'cuddly'!

And I didn't come with a beard or an axe. ;)

What do I fill out if I'm from Holland as well as slightly intoxicated?

There are quite a few women gamers in our forums, but like the guys, they probably don't think it's very important to identify their sex. I mean, it's not like you're giving away a free potato with every answer, after all. Besides, I'm allergic to potatoes, so I'll thank you to keep them to yourself. ;)

:laugh::laugh: :p

And I imagine most guys and girls are more interested in games than chatting in here... ah well...

But I was expecting a higher proportion of girls than 1 in 5 all the same.

Mind you, all the guys haven't started voting either. This poll of yours would probably yield a higher number of female gamers if we covered The Sims on these forums. ;)

True. As it is, I think this poll is a definite FLOP!
