Water Chip deadline *Spoilers*

Post by sonny »

First of all, I apologize for posting so much (seems like I'm the only one posting. Hope I'm not breaking any rules). But this game is so different then any thing I've played so far and I just want to avoid any major screw ups. I"m trying to avoid any walkthroughs or post with spoilers.
Having a great time. Good game so far. Anyway for my question :o

I'm in the Hub trying to get any quest I can, and I've just came across a guy called the Master Merchant that can ship water to V13 and extend my deadline. I have enough caps (love that part of the game. When bottle caps become our money:laugh :) and according to my PIP I have 105 days left to get the chip.

I would like to do the Caravan jobs, but I'm sure I'll have enough time.
1. Should I buy the water?
2. Are there any down sides to this action?

Thanks again
Sonny :) :)

If you have the caps, go ahead and buy the water delivery. Can't remember how much it extends the time limit, but there is no reason no to do it.

And as I a bit hinted above, there is no drawbacks of buying it. Only benefits (more time)

Oh, and don't worry posting questions, we are happy to answer. Just make sure to do a bit search first, you may get some answers faster that way. ;)

Actually, there is one drawback to this: you buy yourself100 or so days for the chip quest, but(minor spoiler)

the overall time limit of the game decreases by 100 days

As stated previously, it does increase the time limit and if you're running short of time (and have lots of caps), then go ahead and buy it. If not, don't bother.

As for the second question, if I recall reading from a walkthrough somewhere, buying water to your vault will increase the chances of mutants of finding it. The more you buy, the higher the chance of them finding it.

If you have a patch installed, go ahead and do the extra time thing. BUT: if you don't have the patch, there will be a drawback later.

The games you get from gog.com are usually fully patched, so the bottle caps you have to pay for the water are the only disadvantage.

When I start the game (which I got from GOG) it says it's ver 1.1
Thanks
