I just took out the Bandits, I'm currently in the swamps, how close am I to ending the game? More importantly how close am I to getting a Mule???

I want an ASS!!!

There are 8 chapters in the game if I remember well. You are very far from the end.

Mules are sold in about every city in the game. I think you missed 5 or so so far, unless you are in a multiplayer game. You can't have mules in multiplayer game.

I saw a bunch of Mules kicking it but couldn't buy one!!!
