FYI,
I am playing with four mules, One of them just carries Healing potions. The rest just carry loot.
I have just a Melee fighter with plenty (never run out) of potions.
When I got to the Swamp, I cleaned out the whole swamp of every creature and gained at least 7 levels before going into the Goblin mines.
Later,
WJ

why so many mules?
when you're solo just transmute'n stuff gives you more than enough cash for the best gear.
i'm solo'n with a nature mage (30) who's got 10 in combat magic (for mana chant, practically impossible to play w/o it for a solo caster) and i've only got two mules (who i'm seriously think'n about dumping, i have to run alot and they tend to get killed unless i keep them an ungodly distance away from me). I usually just transmute the gear i can't wear, store spells in the multiple spell books i carry on my char and use potions only as i find em (with 5 or 6 larger potions of each type that i refill with the smaller). I'm still working on clearing out the swamp(damn swamp witches are a PAIN with the summons, mana shield is a life saver)

What could you possibly buy with the money you get from Transmute. By the time you make it to Glacern, the spell books alone cost 10K +?
