What does the Fury Eye do in Single Player

I picked up a Fury Eye from a chest but can not figure out what it does if anything. Anybody know with out spoiling anything important in the future.
I'm in the Swaps post temple cleansing.

It does nothing in single player. Only in the multiplayer.
You need a new character knife, and some books that you pick up in multiplayer to open a secret area.
When you go to a merchant you can sell it for 1000 dollars.

Fury Eye

Basically, it takes up 4 spaces in your inventory in single player!
