A Few Questions

Post by The Z »

A few questions
  1. Is there any way to get lots of money without cheating? I never seem to have enough to buy some magical items...let alone recruit some of the later NPC's.
  2. Why do all the NPC's have much higher skill levels than me (and my current NPC's), even though I'm not multi-classed? Am I doing something wrong? Should I clear out EVERY map?

While I am still stuck in the caverns, I am not having the same money problem. If anything I can't seem to spend it all. While there are some items that are quite nifty, none of my people are high enough level to use them.

Are you packing a mule? This allows you to collect all the excess junk and sell it.

I am treating my PC as dual class (2 classes, melle and combat magic) and am holding par with most of the early NPCs I picked up. Only Nadia with her exclusive bow use is outpacing us by about 4 levels. Maybe archers go up levels quicker?

Thanks for the reply. I actually finished the game awhile ago, and I found that all my characters advanced quicker by only using their main skill. I also found that I didn't need to buy all the great equipment  :D

Figured you probably had. I am stubbornly maintaining my melee fighter/combat mage as a dual class. I am starting to lose level ground with the single classed NPCs though. It's just satisfying to toss off a few spells then run in and beat the hell out of something ;)

..incidently, I was mistaken about the archers - all classes require the same amount of XPs to go up each level. Guess the archer just pounds away as the enemies approach and then just keeps at it. And viola, more rapid advance.
