Character Renaming

I have created character templates, playing new characters into Normal Act 2, getting the cube, and all without using a single stat or skill point. Once done, I save the character and back it up onto a disk, so I can import and modify the character into any type I want (amazon becomes bowazon, spearazon etc.) The problem with this is that I cannot have two template characters at once, since they have the same name. Is there any way to rename the characters? (I tried just renaming the files, but I get an error saying it is not the correct version). Thanks.

depends on what version of d2 you're playing. if it's pre 1.04 you can use jamella's editor (can be found at google), after 1.04 you can no longer load char files. I don't know any prog that can edit d2 lod 1.10 chars though...

I'm running the current version, 1.1 I think. What you're saying makes sense, I guess I'll have to be happy with only one template character at a time.

Yea when i edited i wasl ike 1.08 i think, hope that helps
