Fighting sorceress

Post by Dottie »

Played the game for a short while now and recently got the urge to start a sorceress without using spells to deal direct damage, So now im searching for answers on some questions...

I have seen people claim both that Lightningmastery effects lightning damage you deal with your sword and that it does not. Does anyone know the correct answer? And if it increases lightning dmg could I go for that instead of using enchant?

Should I max out energy sheild, or is that useless?

Should I use any of the cold armours? And if so wich one?

If you have other thoughts on makeing a fighting sorc, please share. :)

There are several builds you can use for a Fighting sorc, I think the best would be to build an Enchantress. Max Warmth, Fire bolt, Fire ball, Enchant and Fire Mastery. Do you want to use a melee or ranged weapon?

Energy shield is matter of taste, I always had it in 1.09, but I don't like it in 1.10 since my sorc builds no longer have a lot of mana.

I think the third cold armour is the best, so put 1 point in each of them to start with. Some people like to have more points in either chilling or cold armour, but start with 1 and see how you fare. The Fire synergies are more important.

An enchantress is a very nice party character - you could play her with my Tesladin :D

Enchant is the only sorc skill that adds damage to your weapon.
Energy shield in version .10 will eat up all your mana, so I would only put a few points in it, until you get dual SoJ rings or some other huge source of mana.

If you are well coordinated, I would set a hot key for teleport and become a teleport/melee sorc with maxed out frozen armor. Alternatively, build a ranged sorc and max the third cold armor. Enchant won't help much with a ranged sorc, but if you are playing with a summoner (such as a necro), then enchanting all the summoned creatures works well.

Either way, max out thunderstorm so you can do damage while you are running away or teleporting around...which is what you will be doing most of the time!

You should try to find a Ribcracker staff. Those are a lot of fun.

I used to hate going to weddings because the old people would always say,"You Next! You Next!" Now I go to funerals and tell them the same thing.

Ok, sorceress of d00m.
Max out Ice Orb
a few into ice master (like 1)
Light mastery a fair amount
Sizeable Tstorm (great for duels)
Armor yea might as well, allow you to get away from those bad boys if they get to close
1 into teleport
a few into energy shield
My opinion: GOOD WARMTH LEVEL
if you can continuously cast your spells and have your magick regenerate on your own you will be much much happier
Good luck
