Well, I think I'd pick Orc. I, like others, have an intrest in the savage, warrior-like Orcs. I am intrested in their shamanistic ways and will probably be an Orc Shaman when the game is released. Although, I am also into the ways of the druid and shadowy, yet peaceful life styles of the Night Elves. A Night Elf Rogue sounds just right of me. Anything after that, I might choose an Undead Priest. Not likely I'll have that many characters, though.
People like humans because they are easy to play, but the orcs are warriors and are ideal for a war game. =p
I also update with any information that I deem important.
Uhh this thread has been around for a while and it seems that some of the Links above don't really work.
-sorry... your loss =P
I kill two dwarves in the morning, I kill two dwarves at night. I kill two dwarves in the afternoon, and then I feel alright. I kill two dwarves in time of peace and two in time of war. I kill two dwarves before I kill two dwarves, and then I kill two more. I may be bad, but I feel good.
I will probably end up playing an Orc or a Dwarf so I can be a Hunter, but the Undead have some cool benefits, like being able to stay underwater indefinitely and being resistant to fear and sleep.
Originally posted by Applebrown I've played them all and they all are pretty good.
Yeah, but tell us which one your favorite is for your own reasons. So we can get variety.
I'd pick Orc because they are more warrior like and I’ll end up playing either the Rogue or maybe the Warrior. I think I’d prefer Rogue, since they require coordination and strategy to fight with. Unless there is a better race for the Rogue.

Have you thought about being a night elf or tauren as a hunter?

Taurens look cool, but I wasn't very impressed with the Night Elf area. It looks cool, don't get me wrong, just not my thing. Also, I think it would be weird to play a Night Elf hunter, because they are such nature freaks. I guess hunting is a basic part of nature, though.
Yeah, I brought it up because night elf are natural hunters, or atleast the women are. I guess the men are just into magic. But yeah I brought up tauren because they would look cool as hunters.
I wish more people would vote the poll though. Saddening how few warcraft fans are here at game banshee...

@ Baedden: Nope we didn't have an NDA, it was lifted as of Phase 1 I believe.
@ Bloodthroe: My favorite races are the ones with the funnest starting areas.... not just their looks. You can read the preview we just put up on GB to get a sample of what the areas look like, with screenshots. My main character, Famika, is now a level 23 Troll Shaman.
Durotar (Orc/Troll Starting Area): This red rocky area has to be my favorite starting area. At first I wondered, but the newbie quests and look of the ones in the area were probably my favorite as far as fun. Therefore I'd suggest beginning as an Orc/Troll if you're wanting to play Horde.
Elwynn Forest (Human Starting Area): This area is the most fleshed out as of now in terms of its major city, Stormwind, and its sister areas that are level 10+. It has a great feel to it and the quests are plentiful and fun. I'd recommend Humans to any newbie player who doesn't want to risk too much in choosing a race.
Thessalar (sp? - Night Elf Starting Area): It's beautiful and serene. It feels the most "comfy" area I've played. The Night Elves are generally cool looking IMO and it was nice to see the beautiful colorful landscapes and monsters. I'd recommend the Night Elf to any player that wans a slight change of pace. The only thing I've heard is that their level 10+ area next to it, Darkshore, is as of this time, not the best designed... in general for a variety of reasons, but I'm guessing it's still fun. I hear it's just crowded at the moment.
Dun Morogh (Dwarf/Gnome Starting Area): This is a really cool starting location but is not for everyone. Like its frozen climate, Dun Morogh is a little harsher in terms of feeling at home. It's certainly beautiful and I've done all the quests there with a character in Phase 1 and they were fun. If you want a more rugged exotic character, choose a dwarf or gnome.
Mulgore (Tauren Starting Area): Though beautiful, it was my least favorite starting area. The quests are mostly collection quests that take a little longer than I'd like to complete due to competing groups and rarity, and I just found the area a little stale for such a lush beautiful area. It's sort of fun, but not as much as the others. Thankfully, it's not very tough to commute to Durotar from Mulgore through its main city, Thunderbluff, and then do the quests there. I did complete them all when I reached level 12... and they were much easier but still not as fun as other areas.
Tirisfal Glades (Undead Starting Area): I didn't see too much of Tirisfal, but enough to get a good understanding of the terrain and quest versatility... playing my undead warlock through level 8. The quests are naturally macabre, and the creatures are mostly undead as well. Next to Tirisfal is my so far favorite level 10+ area: Silverpine Forest. Great quests and scenery await there. Don't choose undead if you want to look pretty, but they are uniquely different... and can breathe underwater I believe.
Favorite starting areas in order: Durotar (orc/troll), Elwynn Forest (human), Dun Morogh (dwarf, gnome), Thessalar (sp.? night elves), Tirisfal Glade (undead), Mulgore (tauren).
I think I would play with a human, because the others sound less cool. I mean a dwarf?? Who wants to be a dwarf? Mabey an orc would be fun.
But are this al the threads? Not much :s
Btw whats WoW going to be for a game? I know its a mmorpg, I play Morrowind will it be something like that? That would be great, and I know the old Warcraft that was a nice game I liked the orcs and stuf.
Edit: I just saw I only viewed the treads of the last 40 days...
If I watch them al it still isnt much but it is better.

Don't get me wrong I've always enjoyed playing as the Orcs, I much admire their natural warrior way of life. I in fact plan to be a rogue, which was said to be similar to that of an assassin on Diablo 2, I plan to be an incredible fighter. I have no problem joining the Horde. And as Warcraft 3 came out, I was fine with the first two games, they seemed like ordinary great games, but as Warcraft 3 came out I started to get into the story. How the world was created, the evil titan god Sargeras, the Burning Legion's origin, and much background about many of the hero and villain characters of Warcraft. I'm not sure why I've become hooked into Blizzard's Warcraft. Same thing started to happened with Diablo. A few other game's stories have caught my attention too(not Blizzard's). Legacy of Kain is another, but I just guess Blizzard makes good games. I'm sure I'll have no problem playing an Orc on Warcraft, if that's the choice I do end up making.
That being said... I don't think Orc would be my first choice if I were going for a cool look. :s P.S. Bloodthroe will probably be my WoW name.

Sorry Bloodthroe, I didn't vote because I don't HAVE a favorite
I like playing the Troll Shaman just as much as my Night Elf Warrior and Gnome Warlock. For me it's more about quests and exploration than what my skin is... though having just acquired a long leather cloak, I'm now stylin' too.
Well I just wanted to see what the statistics of playing in WoW would be. Human of course will be the majority, I think.

I couldn't have said it better myself. If everyone in the world were like the Orcs, there would be no violence, because it would all seem like normal behavior.

I'd go with either the orcs or the trolls. I've always thought that the orcs were pretty neat, and lately, for some reason, I've found the trolls really interesting. I don't know why.
I wanted to change my sig, but I can't think of anything to change it to
Looking at the trolls, they definately seem to have an elvish feeling to them, for the horde.

It has nothing to do with skin type. It has to do with what race you perform best with, which one you like role playing, hence it is an RPG. The races do differ, if they didn’t they’re wouldn’t be a point to make different races. You can sit there and talk about being above choosing skins or something and it‘s all about the game experience for you, but if your not going to vote the poll, then don’t post in here. We don’t need your spam, go to SYM for that.
