Status for europeans WOW GB players (if any remains :))

Post by Xandax »

So now that FInal Beta is playing itself out and estimated launch in the middle of feburary (hey - didn't I all the time expect this periode as release :D )

Anyways..

I am pretty sure I'll play this game, for a periode of time at least. The game seems very simplistic and easy for a MMOG (typical Blizzard I think), but that is another discussion - I'm sure it can provide a casual gamer like me some fun for a while.
However - are others still going to play the EU version when it goes live from GameBanshee?
And what type of server do you expect to play?

Personally - I'm still leaning most towards PvE servers for multiple reasons.
For instance to minimize the amount of "leet kids", griefers and other goddies of the MMOG-genre.
Also because I'm a casual gamer - a few hours at evenings, and weekends are what I play - thus the competition on PvP servers might drive casual players away.
However - the small deathpenalty and the ease of gaining XP indicates that I could infact "survive" playing on a PvP server.
Another thing that speaks against PvP servers for me, is the "class balance". I will expect a large percentage to be rogues and I hate stealth in MMOGs now, since I played as, and against, stealthers in DAoC.

Oh- all them choices :D - First I need to figure out what server to play on, then what races and class, I want to pick and so on... it is difficult to start playing MMOGs :)

Anyways - enough of rambeling - but were other people still planning on playing WOW EU Retail? :)

I'll be playing for sure. Can't say how much yet, but if the time I spend playing the beta is anything to go by I*m going to play alot :) As for what server I will play on I don't know as blizzard hasn't realeased the server names yet, but right now I'm playing on the EN 10 server as an alliance priest named Aleachim.

But what type of server would you go for (not server name per se).
PvP or PvE - or perhaps RP if we get that?

I'm going to play on a PvP server as all the people in my guild want to play there. I'm not really concerned about l33t kiddies as I have not been bothered with them during beta (I just leave the general chat...). I also love being able to kill the opposing faction on sight (maybe I myself am a l33t kiddie....) and also the excitement of seing people of the opposing faction running about with the mobs I kill....

I'm going to play, and i would prefere a PvE or RP server.
Is there still going to be a GB-guild?
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

I doubt it due to lack of interest it seems. We arent' many that will play from GB it seems, but that isn't to stop anybody from making a guild :)

I still don't know excatly what I'll play - wether or not it will be PvE or PvP. I'm still leaning most towards PvE or possible RP if that applies :)

Dunno... I would always prefere to know there are some (somewhat ;) :D ) mature people on the server as well. Even if I'm not in direct play contact with they.

I don't even know what to play either - whether or not I'm going Horde or Alliance. Although I think my characters will be warrior and/or warlock as my main two. They seem to appeal most to me.
Choices and desicions. The bane of me playing games :D

I think i'm going to play a mage, gnome when alliance, or undead when playing horde.
If whe team up with a few GB-members, it might be a good idea to choose different classes, and skills, so we are better balanced.
But thats all in the (near) future.

I'm expecting my copy of the game 11february, whe can decide on a server around then.
