Defeating Diablo

Post by fernleyranger »

I'm a level 35 barbarian, do I have any hope of defeating Diablo right now or should I keep leveling up?

At Normal, you should have no problems defeating Diablo by now. I ususally take on Diablo when my characters are about lvl 25-28. Just make sure you have good fire and decent lightning resistance, otherwise you may become barbecue in his pink flame since I assume you play a melee char.

Good luck!

you do need the resistances but if you time it right you can disengage from combat just before he fires it and avoid the beam entirely. You just need to time what he does and attack at the right points durring the sequence.

Dodge his nasty abilities by jumping, with a barbarian that should pose no problem

What kind of Barbarian are you? I believe that level 35 is quite a high level to be fighting Diablo already (even with players 8) and you should have enough hitpoints and skill to knock him flat on his backside. I ususually blitz as fast as I can through the game so I can reap the experience glory of Act IV faster.

Points into Natural Resistance will make life much easier though and whirlwind with life steal will keep you on top of him.

I usualy defeat Diablo at 28 or 27.Hell is just a boring place to level up,but that is what i think.I have played with a barbarian and i think i killed Diablo in 5 or 6 hits.So it shouldn`t be a problem for you.Use the leap and attack when u first attack him and aftar that watch him closely. If he spreads his arms wide open then he will problably make a lightning blast and it should be avoided at all costs.
