Item Cheats in LoD?
After CE's advise in my newbie thread I went to town and bought LoD for only $6! A quick look in the small manual taught me that there was a new item type, called Runes. In my newbie-ish enthousiasm, I started playing and had collected 3 runes after two hours of killing nasties in Act II, being Tir, Eld, and El. I checked the GB runewords guide and quickly found that I could make a very cool weapon with Tir and El. Luckily I had a two-handed sword with two sockets in my stash, so I immediatly inserted two runes in the sword.... only to find out that I had used Eld instead of El, giving me a worthless undead damaging sword. Is there any way, through cheat codes or console commands, that I can spawn a Two-Handed sword with 2 sockets, and a new Tir and Eld rune in my inventory?

Excellent to hear you bought LoD, Moltovir!
If you play online at Bnet, there is no way to use cheat consoles and such (well, there are, but that is illegal hacks which I certainly don't recommend). If you play locally, single player, there are several cheat consoles around you can use to spawn items. However, I do not recommend using such third-party programs since there is a high risk for getting viruses and trojans that make it possible for other people to steal your account.
Unlucky you took the wrong rune there, one must be very careful when making runewords! However, you were lucky in one sense, and that is that both El and Tir are very common runes. Socketed items are also very common to find. You will soon find new ones if you continue to play, so I would not recommend taking the risk to use cheat soft ware.

That's too bad
Thanks for the advice btw.
I'm at the and of Act II now, and I've found dozens of socketed weapons, El and Eld runes, but still no Tir... At the moment I've got other worries... when I enter Tal Rashas chamber, Duriel (what is he doing there anyway? I thought I had to face Baal or Tal Rasha) charges and kills me in one hit. I go back, reenter, and then I survive long enough to resummon my Blood Golem twice. After he kills those in one hit, I cast some Bone Walls which he simply ignores, and... kills me in one hit. After I gulped some potions of Thawing, he needed two hits! Joy! But I'm still dead in five seconds

If you have 3 El, you can cube then into and Eld, and if you have 3 Eld, you can cube them into a Tir. But don't worry, you will soon find a Tir rune.
Duriel is watching Tal Rasha's grave chamber, so that noone shall enter. He is quite difficult for a non melee character. You must get yourself a merc, if you don't have one already. Also, use the curse Iron Maiden to make Duriel hit himself when he hits your Blood Golem. If you don't want to put skill points in the curses tree, you can buy a wand with Iron Maiden.
Another option is do use Decrepify. Buy many healing and mana potion to keep your belt filled!

I once had a little teaparty, this afternoon at three, twas was very small, three guests in all; I, myself, and me. myself ate up the sandwhiches, while i drank up the tea. twas also i that ate the pie,and passed the cake to me
Cubing runes up to Thul should work in all versions of D2 LoD I think. You need 1.10 to be able to cube higher runes that that, though.
Btw, those of you who don't play at Battlenet, should connect to Battlenet anyway in order to automatically get all the latest patches.

IIRC, if you have patch 1.10 installed, you will need gem or something when cubing runes. I may also be wrong, cause I haven't had any chance to play D2 long time, but I think there was changes in Cube formulas.

That is correct, Kipi. Many Cube formulas were changed in 1.10. For runes, you can cube them without a gem up to Thul, after that you need various gems to cube a higher rune.
I plan to update Gamebanshee's documents about runewords soon, since Blizzard released 23 new runewords for Ladder before New Year.
