I had installed LoD, I read that I can convert my old char. (single player) to the new version of the game.
I had 4 char (a lev. 37 barb, a lev 13 amazon, a lev 12 necro and a lev 1 pally), but when I start a game only the pally appear as a selectable char. to be played and to be converted.
If I open the directory of Diablo II in my pc there are still the files of the saved char. (all of them).
What is happening and how can I recover and use all my old char?
thanks
My char. are disappeared!!! Help!

If you are using certain mods, or have custom items, I think there is a chance that may be why. You said you paladin was level 1, I gues he wasn't affected by whatever custom things were in the game.
My suggestion, unless you want to unistall LOD, and go through your characters to find flaws, download a program like Jamella, that lets you look at your characters. Hopefully, you will notice the problem and you can keep on playing. Good Luck.

In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.
What version on LoD do you use? I seem to remember there was a bug in 1.09 that caused problems with converting your chars.
EDIT: Have you made any new chars? If not, make a new char and make sure your old D2 chars are in the same directory as the new LoD-char.

Update to the latest patch - 1.10
My guess is that you originally had Diablo 2 updated to 1.08 or higher and then installed LOD, which actually downgrades to 1.07 (or 1.06). So your characters are actually of a higher version than the current LOD game you have.
Also you should check your characters are in the right folder, that is "save" inside your Diablo 2 main directory.
