Druid

Post by Piff »

Well i want to revert back to druids. I have one druid level 46 but its not turning out very well. He gets killed really easily and hes just in nightmare. So I want to make a druid where his build will be good werewolf druid.

I also play verison 1.07

I wouldn`t sugest making a werewolf build druid...I made a hardcore style mage (fire and air magic combined with vine and spirit summons).It turned out real well.The trick is that you need to save most of the skill points and when you get Tornado then take as many as you can there.If you really want to make a Werewolf druid then you will just be weak..in my opinion.

I am going to have to disagree with you on this one LonelyPilgrim. While choosing a magic-casting style druid makes sense with the current version (1.10), this would not work as well with a previous version such as 1.07 thru 1.09. There are two reasons for this;
1) The main change that made magic-casting druids (also called elemental druids) so powerful was synergies, and synergies were not introduced until 1.10.
2) People abandoned playing melee druids (wearwolves and werebears) because 1.10 also introduced universal physical immunity of something like 50% in hell monsters. This actually led to people not playing any melee characters as much like zealot paladins, barbs, and bow zons. But if Piff is playing version 1.07, then (s)he doesn't need to worry about that.

Version 1.07 was released with the LoD (Lord of Destruction) expansion, and this was the first time one could play the druid and assassin classes. I don't know much about version 1.07 since it was immediately patched, but I am guessing it is somewhat similiar to versions 1.08 and 1.09. Piff, you might want to go to Battle.net's website and take a look at what changes occurred when Blizzard released patches 1.08 and 1.09. Back in 1.08 and 1.09, werewolves were the most popular buid for druids. People would make WW (werewolves) that maxed skill points for Lycanthorpy, werewolf, and fury. Additional points would be added to some summoning skills like oak sage. For the most part, WW and WB shunned all elemental skills because one cannot cast them while shapeshifted in pre-1.10 versions. People would shift to a wolf and use fury as their main attack skill. The only problem one usually had was running into the occasional physical immune.

This build would probably work well for you Piff.

I think i know whats my problem with my other druid and that is he has negative resistances so he dies pretty quickly when he comes across someone with lightning enchantment or fire enchanted.
