Paladin or Warrior...?

Post by Brynn »

Hello all,

there's a Paladin in the party I'm playing with, and it's quite clear that he depends heavily on the gear he's wielding. So, his equipment takes all our money :D Which is not a problem at all, I was just wondering if this is the same with Warriors, or whether his spells give him any advantage over a Warrior.

Well first of all, you paladin should not buy gear in store, he should instead learn mining and blacksmithing and make his own. I am a blacksmith I haven't bought any stuff from a shop for about 20 levels.

Warriors usually need just as good gear as a paladin to survive, but I think paladins are better. Especially when it comes to surviving. The paladin is the most defensive class in the game, able to take on many foes at the same time, or survive an attack from a monster several levels higher. (+4) However, warriors deal more damage than pallys, who has to rely on luck to finish a fight fast. Warriors are also better at holding aggro as well.

Also, I found it boring to play a warrior (I played one in beta)

He has just taken on mining and blacksmithing (it's really fun to be waiting in the middle of the road doing nothing while he collects the ore  :D I have no gathering skills), so that's good :) Hopefully I can upgrade his items for better with Enchanting later on :)

Well, I like the image of the holy warrior better than the simple mercenary, too. And afaik he'll get Resurrection, too, that's very handy!

(Btw, why can they get a mount for free when we poor weak mages have to walk?! That's so unjust! )

haha, you just wait till you are at a higher level and you can kill things in 10 sec, while he takes 2 min.
