i am on act 3 and have done every quest apart from 4.
how do i activate it i am really stuck please help.
i cant get to act4.

Quest 4 in Act 3 is not required to continue further in the game. It's an optional quest that give you 5 extra stat points. For a spoiler, highlight the black text below.
If you cannot go on to act 4, there must be something else you have done wrong. Have you collected all 3 body parts of Kalim (heart, eye, brain)? Have you found the High Council in Travincle and made Kalim's flail to enter Durance of Hate? Have you found Mephisto? If you have killed Meph, you should go into the red portal that opens up in the middle of the room, in the moat. That will take you to Act 4.
Act 3, Quest 4 spoiler:
In Kurast Bazaar and Upper Kurast, there are 6 different temples you can go into by clicking on the bloody altars on the walls. The temples have different names and they change location from game to game, but in the one called Ruined Temple you will find a boss monster called Sarina Battlemaid. In the same tomb, there will be a book which you should bring to Alchor.
