heart of the oak on a necro
18 to Dim Vision is a bit silly, as is more then one point in Decrep.
Why do you have a SS, instead of the Homunculus (I assume that you can afford better since you have both an Enigma and HotO)?

If you play fully twinked with traded gear and mules full of highlevel runeword armours, then yes, 18 in Dim Vision is a bit silly. However, if you play the game no-twinked, without trading and for fun instead of for becoming rich and beating Hell in 5 minutes, then no, 18 in DV isn't silly, it's more of a necessity.

i was thinking of the Homunculus, but the SS has a really high blocking rate and D. Its made more for melee duels (barbs and such) but I think it helps me out. hmm..... the Hom. wouldnt be such a bad idea, more +skills!!! whats the average blocking rate/defense for one of those anyway? i dont remeber.

Even for a poor necro, most would call 18 DV extreme overkill. It isn't even that difficult to find +skill items (not talking about godly +skill items). You don't want too large a radius either, lest you lure too many monsters towards you once it wears off (or those who aren't affected).

I don't recall the exact values (don't bother with the defence, on a Necro it will be negligable), though I do remember that you need less DEX for max block with the Homunculus then SS.

The duration increases together with the radius, and most monsters will be death by the time Dim's duration is over. And I've never seen off-screen Dimmed monsters who target me when their Dim wears off. And since when does using Dim attract non-dimmed monsters to your necromancer?

I am no necro player and I have hardly played this ladder, but 1. I really think Homunculus is better for you that SS and 2. At the last ladder it was cheap to trade for, and quite easy to find.

well its official, i traded away the stormshield to a dueling barb (figures) and got enough sojs/charms to get my homunculus. yay!!! I havnt noticed any real significant changes....other than the fact i get more skill points... having lv. 35 skeletons with lv. 35 mastery is...well......not very nice. teleport kills are nasty with the skeletons and my posion skills have a little boost. Its all good... i figured out a way to score cheap (with a summoner) kills by making a tp (tp = town portal for those who didnt know...), hostile him in town and tp, make the person go in the tp (having a host of skeletons already summoned and standing right in the way of the portal) and watch as all the summoned units hit the person at once doing over 100k you can aslo do this in trading games, tp into a pack of hell monsters and watch them die instantly.....heheh...you can aslo backstab players this way by making a tp and say "hey lets trade here" or "unique items here.." and hostiling them when they go into it, only they find themselves surrounred by summoned monsters that do 2 k each. these are VERY UNDERHANDED tactics and should never be used beacuse blizzard moderators will kick your @$$!!!! and ban your account for 30 days (happened to me)....I dont know why i just ranted about it. anyway.......

SK, I know what people are like at Bnet, and I don't like it - that's why I don't make it worse by joining that culture. I have played D2 since it was released, and do you know what? I have never ever been PK:ed and I have never, ever PK:ed somebody else. If somebody who behaves suspiciously enter an open game I play in, I quit and leave. If some immature kids come and brag about their items or ask me this tiresom "WYG?" or "itz plz, plz, plz", I leave the game. And I would never dream of PK:ing anyone else, especially not on HC. Why would I, what would be the fun of that?

That's why you should never play Hardcore .
EDIT: Wait a second, you have never been PK'd? That is honestly quite amazing! Is it because you are too hard to kill, or because no one has had the chance?

It's because I am paranoid and leave the game if I don't like how the other people behave. I had happened that people have tried to PK my sorcs, by they are not easily killed so nobody succeeded yet. When someone try to PK me, I just leave the game.
