upgrade charms in HC?

is it possible to upgrade grand charms in the cube?

And you'd upgrade them to....? Upgrading is changing the base item type, and since charms don't have exceptional or elite versions: no, you can't. Although you can reroll them to get a chance at getting a skiller or something else useful.

baal gcs

o ya, if you get a gc from baal...cant you put it in the horadric cube and it has a chance too turn into a skill gc?.....------------> captain clueless....just smack me if im to ignorant.

IIRC, you can. Baal should drop high enough level ones.

If you want the best chance at rolling Skill charms (pure skillers, I'm not talking about 12 fhr skillers or 44 life skillers, but <30 life is possible), you'll want to reroll charms with an ilvl of 50. Why's that? The +1 Skill prefixes become available at that ilvl, and using charms of higher level will dilute the prefix pool by increasing the amount of possible prefixes. With ilvl 50 charms, you'll have the best chance at getting charms with +1 to a skill tree. You should get about 1 skiller every 15 rerolls. Since ilvl (item level) equals alvl (area level) you'll want to farm alvl 50 areas for Grand Charms, being the Great Marsh, Flayer Jungle, Spider Cavern and Arachnid Lair in Nightmare difficulty.
