Death Blast?

Is this some kind of bug in the game, i purchased Death Blast spell, but it doesn't do anything, it just shines over the head and when enemy attacks nothing happens with it?!
Any ideas what is this about?

Death Blast (Level 24)
Delivering killing blows will explode the Enemy in a powerful burst of flame. Click on the Caster to enable this spell.

From the description of the spell, I would think it makes the enemy explode when you kill them damaging all other nearby enemies.

I haven't noticed that.
btw have you noticed that all electric spells except multispark are pretty much useless, as a matter of fact all single type spells are totaly ineffective, before and after multispark and icefury (where damage is multiplied with the number of shards/sparks) there is practically nothing to look forward in this aspect of the game.
