Diablo 2 Story Questions

Diablo 2 is one of my favorite games, only because of the awesome multiplayer and the cool cutscenes. But, who is the old man in the videos? Was he someone from Diablo 1, i know the wanderer is the hero from the first game. Anyone else like the cutscenes?

I never payed much attention to the story in Diablo, but I think the Wanderer is Diablo himself and the old man is the hero from Diablo I.

In D1, the story ends with the hero taking over Diablo's soulstone thereby taking power over Diablo but loosing his own humanity in the process. When D2 starts, the hero is an old man and you are the new hero.

Oh, i thought the wanderer was the old hero possesed by diablo since he took diablos soulstone.

No, the wanderer is the old hero possessed by Diablo. The old guy is just a random that tells the story.

Ok, i knew thats who the wanderer was. Wierd they didnt make the old guy someone more than just a random geezer. Thanks

Aha. I read at some Diablo website that the old man was the hero from D1.

Marius is just some weird old guy that is the narrator of the story, my guess is that he was a survivor of Tristram.
