What Do You Want in KotOR III?
I know what you mean
I get it exactly, there are times when you don't have a clue where to go and just asking someone to pick a direction would make all the difference. I know that in KOTOR I on Tatooine my first time I was completely lost and I couldn't figure out how to get into the eastern dune sea. If I could have asked Jolee or Bastilla, "what do you think I should do?" They may have said something corny like, "The force will guide us." but it would help to ease my troubles knowing that there is nothing I could do at a specific area. I thikn it would be bad in the case of Sasha when they all say leave me alone or how should I know kind of answers. This part wouldn't help at all but the first with it tying into influence would help. I think that if you could ask them what they thing you gain influence but if you know what they think and go against it, without explaining why, then you lose it.

Bao-Dur: I think he wanted us to give up the Genreal to his poorly trained collection of bounty hunters.
Atton: Ah. well that would explain it. Which one do you want?
Bao-Dur: I'll take the stupid one who decided to threaten us rather than shoot us when he had the chance.

This is kinda funny, and I'm on dial-up and have no patience to search every thread, so I hope the comment I'm talking about is in this thread.
Someone mentioned--and I agreed--that it was stupid for you to have a big battle around civilians and they don't get affected by it. I pointed out that when i killed General Riiken on Onderon, a Beastrider who saw me ran away. It should be stuff like that. Well, I was in the cantina on Onderon when Tobin came with his troops, and I never really thought about this, but some people in there get affected, too. A Twi'lek woman seemed to run away from the scene as the troops opened fire, Nikko was cowering, as was Gromo the Duros. Of course, every other character in the cantina was unphased by the battle, which was just ridiculous.

General: "Those aren't ideas; those are special effects."
Michael Bay: "I don't understand the difference."

Oh its a shame you live so far away man. We could have so much fun! Well... maybe. We might end up in jail after we get out of the hospital.[/QUOTE]

Since we last talked..
I definiately agree that there should have been action oriented NPC AIs. They have some but not a lot, generally the only ones who really give a damn are the ones who have something to say during the walk around. I mean the ones who react are the guys who say stuff like "The Republic needs more ships to keep order in the region.", and they are the ones who just say that!
I think that in general it would be a cool idea that they help or hate you. Again this idea shadows Fable. As an example on Ondereon the population of the planet starts fighting for which ever side they want to win. I mean citizens taking arms and helping you get into the castle to fight or help the Colonel and General. I also think that at times when you have people following you on a mission they be playable!! I hate having a guy who can't die just stand there while mine get their arses handed to them! I think that (as an example) in the castle of Ondereon the captain guy who follows you should help cleans the castle of the enemy instead of just you having to fight both wings of the castle to open the stupid door. Have the NPCs if they are going to be NPCs do something except stand there. I mean at one point there are guys just standing there while you come through a long line to 'rescue' them then they fight with you?
ps. Who is yuzhan-vong ?

Ok, I have to admit, most of what i wanted to say is on the boards already. the different spieces, dont bring back revan or any of the others as playable characters, no more memory lapses of any of the characters (Revan and HK47, it stopped being interesting there), and maybe a different ship too. I mean, what are they gonna do with the hawk now. It was out of date when they got it in the original KOTOR, refering to it as an old modified freighter of unknown class. All that they added in the second one was a bunch of annoying doors, and another secret compartment.
It would be kind of cool to be able to pilot in the game, but its more roleplaying, so if they were to bring it in, then youd have to have some focus on it. upgrading the hawk or whatever ship you get would help too.
Getting characters that you want would be better too. I mean, how often did i use some of the characters? I used Visas twice, and after i left Peragus i dont think i used Kreai as much. Atton was shoved to the side as soon as i got someone who was sturdier. I basically only used 4 charcters out of ten inthe game anyways, and i only used GO-TO once, and that was because I had forgotten to level up the handmaiden before getting into the hawk and decided to take him along.
The influence was great, but i got kinda sick of trying to appease every single thing that each wanted. Half woukd take me down the path to the dark side and the other half down the path of the light. Could we make it a little easier, maybe influence gain with how long they have been with you, like in the original? do you mind bringing back the side quests too? I found those almost as interesting as ending the actual games, finding out hthings about those with you.
Oh man, and no more annoying Kreia charatcers... she was a pain to my force alignment all the way through.. and you had no chance to see what all the double dealing was about. Jedi? No Jdi with me was able to detect deception.
One thing i would like to add, wouldnt it be great to buy droids or mercenaried for your ship. You know, in case you are boarded or something, and droids to repeair your ships in the turrent and fighters battles. Those would make it a lot better.
And does anyone know if the main quad lasers onj either side of the Ebon Hawk have been used? Would be kinda nice to see them take out a fighter with their firepower, instead of using some crap laser turrent instead.
And less crashes please.
Taking different paths would be good too. I meanm, in the end, there could be several ends. Neutral charcter? Maybe you get sick of conflict and leave to let them fix it themselves. Sith? Kill the jedi council mebers one by one? Or have them try to take over the sith for themselves? Jedi? Try to find Revan to learn his abilities or powers? Leave this galaxy and follow revan to wherever he went. It would be good to be able to take different paths in the game.
I find many people complaining that lightsabers are to powerful. then whats the point in even having them? there used bu JEDI. Theres supposed to be more powerful than a vibroblade made in a factory somewhere.
Maybe bring back a company. I now Czerka was a pain in the butt, but it did make the game more interesting for the first one. The second one seemed kind of void of anything.
and I know lag would be increased, but woukdnt an actual crowd of people be nice. City world, you find a coouple of dozen apartments in the area. You would expect to see at least something. You know, maybe some children, and more than ten people outside of the cantina, which also seems to be the only group entertainment on most planets, without swoop racing or pazaak, of course. Poor kids.
All these differnt forms of lightsaber combat, and you would think that they at least look different. I tried to change all of them to see a difference, but there was none. and it was almost exactly the same combat moves as with the first one. But not your enemies... no, they get sparky new moves that looks cool.
throw lightsaber is ok, but it would be nice to have other force abilities when using your lightsaber. You know, jumping over there heads or somethings, or being able to attack with a quick stab?
How does Cortosis weaves work anyways?
LS force abilities would be nice to upgrade too. The dakr is already powerful enoguh, and in the end you can defeat the bosses with a few blasts of dark energy. All the lightside moves seemed to have been down graded, like Destro dorid. I used it on the starforge to get past its droid army (id like to mention...ooooooooooohhhh, droid army.... a whole dozen droids) and it broke through easily. It also almost always disabled them. In this game destroy dorid was more like shooting them with a crappy blaster/ with a 1% chance of stunning them, which made me decide to use sniper shot instead. tasis field seemed not to work wither. In fact the only usable force power ot involving a lightsaber would be... oh yes, force wave. The only force move I use for the LS except heal.
Some different looking doors would be nice too. they were all square or square like with rusted metal that opened the same way every time.
Il like to know where all the supplies come after you defeat a buch of fighters. your ship is halfway to being destroyed, and they repaired on the way to the next planet'? that would be nice tto know how that works?
Where was your swoop bike in KOTOR 2 anyways? Would you be able to upgrade it in the next one?
Can we make the game longer too. this one was supposed to take 35-45 hours aparently and I finsihed with a lv 28 jedi in less than 29 hours. And thw orlds could be a little bit bigger too. I know why it cant be taris sized, but right now, these super cities are really small, and what are the chances that everything important is gonna happen in the samer area? I mean, on Telos, in the enertainment section is where almost all of the important stuff on Telos is. Module 81. I just find that weird.
Pary members would be nice to see in differnt spieces. All the rganics in the game have looked like humans except for a select few, and i think that Bao-Dur was the only none human looking party mebber, being Iridorian. Oh, right, I forgot from the first one: wookie and twi'lek. Still I seriouslt boubt that only humans are in the republic, and that we are the majority, considering that there must be a couple thousand spieces out there.
No more dead planets please. I found that creep and boring and it took up way to much time. there wasnt much to do on Koriban anyways. Follow the computer instructions and find the dead master, and fight some weak losers on the way. then run away from Sion in the end.
Some new animals would be nice too, and considering they are on differnt planets, youd think youd find more of a variety. You seem to have to fight 3 main things through this game. The kinraths, flying dudes and the tintraks or whatever thoise dog things are. You found them all on 3 planets each, which doesnt make anoverly amount of sense. even if you released them into the enviroment, how long do you think they would survive. Although the new ones they had in the second ones were ok, It was actually kind of boring, considering that none of them were overly vicious or worth my time. Canooks were weak, so were the Hssiss, and the cat things werent much of a challenge either. It would have been nice to face a Terennttarek again.
And why do we have to kill off the mandalorians. It be good tom learn that Kreia's visions were clouded and she couldnt really see what was going to happen. The madalorians are really ueful, and are interesting to be around. Just wish they would talk about something else then Malachor, victory, battle and death. They sound like clones and it gets boring. Maybe in the nexdt one you could fight with or against the mandalorians.
And please dont bring back the find quest, go out and find four things and come back to starting place (starmaps and jedi masters.).
Customizable lightsabers would be nice, since all of these items seemed to look the same. Or at least be able to make custom blasters.
And it would be nice if there was no more sneaking around. It would kinda be better if people knew you were a jedi and that you had business to take care of. Open warfare with other ships on your side while manning the turrent, requiring strategy instead of blind shooting would be fun. Or having some assassination droid that will actually do what you want to do with it and send it of to assasinate someone (with limitations of course), instead of it staying by your side all the time.
And that is what it would be NICE for them to change for me. ALthoguh im happy to say Im perfectly content with the way it is now.

OK, you are a sith lords apprentice. He send you on a quest, maybe to find revan ore something and kill him. On your way you meet a jedi (maybe bastilla). She will try Turn you to the light, you could turn to the light meet revan let him become one of your party members and kill, your old master (the sith lord). Then Create a new jedi council.
Or you could escape kill (turn) the Jedi (Bastilla?) go find Revan defeat him and spare him (or kill him), your ofcource more powerfull then him since you defeated him, there for you shall become his master, Then get all his powers Go back to your Master and Kill him. Become The New Dark Lord Of The Sith. What Do you think?

You asked for my opinion. I think that the idea behind the idea is good but not that realistic. Idea behind idea being the start as evil - I have had it but not a strong future. I think that the specifics won't work at all. I mean we knew this going into KOTOR II that Revan and Bastilla (and all the fleshy PCs) are out as PCs. Same goes for the KOTOR II crew. We will not get to play any of them again except the droids. Next the Sith start is an interesting one but if you are a well trained Sith as everyone would hope - not having memory lapses - then you would be taught to be evil and not 'fall'. I think that starting Sith would just make things too hard. In the first 2 you were, at least partially, reveared for being a Jedi but Sith are fully viewed as bad. The only way it would work is if you had a Darth Maul in Ep 1 story. Being second to a cruel calculating Master and forced to go on his behalf on a fools' errand.

Bao-Dur: I think he wanted us to give up the Genreal to his poorly trained collection of bounty hunters.
Atton: Ah. well that would explain it. Which one do you want?
Bao-Dur: I'll take the stupid one who decided to threaten us rather than shoot us when he had the chance.

unfortunatly, i wont kill Bastila, turning her might be fun, but i dont think i could kill her.
and i dont think you should be evil when you start. you should only start out alil bit evil then work on being neutral then good, or just go back evil.
and why cant a vibroblade stop a lightsaber?! cortosis is a wonderful substance
, it stops lightsaber damage.
and how in the name of luster of smeg, do you make a triple beam lightsaber? the beam would have to be split, weakining the blade, therefore not causeing as much or any damage....
and if you have the stealth ablity, a jedi/sith would rather use his tools of the trade, i.e. the lightsaber to strike, not his bare hands.
so when i am the sith lord of you all, and you call me master, your dreams shall be forefilled

ok, ive read lots but i cant be bothered to read the big bits, so im just going to say my part.
1. fully customizeable looks, eyecolour, face, hair style, colour, items, all items show up on body, perhaps even boot browsing? maybe some wierd person would like to run around with the word "nike" on his shoes.
2. more lightsabre forms, and when you change forms in the game, the character changes stances, and uses different animations for attacks, to actually show that he is doing something different.
3. more minigames, they are all good fun.
4. a larger change of character looks when he goes through the force, in kotor 2 there was only three looks, neutral-which stays looking the same until the top of lightside, a some kind of prostitute look with eye liner, and evil where the face has cracks in it.
5. more prestige classes and a heck of alot more force powers, ps: BRING BACK FORCE DESTRUCTION FROM DARK FORCES: MYSTERIES OF THE SITH.
6. expand on getting to know atton better, everybody thought he was a douche when we first saw him, then we lerned that he was some bottom kicking ninja assassin sith later.
7. get more a relationship with characters..I MEAN, come on guys, some of them were hot
8. customizable lightsabre looks, im tired of having the same boring hilt all the time, it would be cool if we could get some kind of sith runed lightsabre, i know i would just buy the game if it only had that.
9. explore the outer rims, go to more places where there were sith and expand upon the idea of following and tracking down revan.
10. ok, this is cute, and girly, but i just want to see it happen. HAVE CHARACTERS FIGHT OVER YOU! IE: handmiden against bastilla
11.customise how you wear things. ie: wear hood up on robe, take robe off.
12.level editors
13.have lightsabre blade of more hues/tones.
14. add in a bit more comedy, i mean, it would be hilarious to see two sith go.
"I HATE YOU!" "I HATE YOU TOO!" *arm wrestle*
15. STEEDS. i want one of those oversized lizards obi wan uses.
16. have the actual game SET in a war, and when i mean a war, i mean a jedi/sith war, it would be so much more fun.
17. less... bugs...
18. have more of the game set up in bars, we dont get enough of "i dont like you either!" *arm gets chopped off*
19. you get to CHOOSE, YOUR, CHARACTER, RACE. think of all the disappointed people in area 51.
20.a child, it would be nice to go through a character having a wife and ect.
21. a larger party than just three people.
22. yes... two player mode.. or internet mode like diablo 2 or NWN.
23. longer. game. i want more big things going on, not little quests to do such as.. FIND ME THREE POWER CONVERTERS, please, less of that.
24. continue the game as the exile.
25. start the game with lightsabre.
26. less loading times, less cinimatics coming in every two seconds, more cinimatics lasting five minuites.
27. start the game off at a jedi academy, i dont want to start again on paragus and go "oh look, whats this, A DROID!" *hit* *droid dies*
28. a heck of a lot more possible endings. that actually matter on what you did in the game.
29. seeing as my friend suggested this, dont blame me.. but im with the idea "THE ABILITY TO HAVE A WANTON SLAUGHTER OF GUNGANS AND PROTOCOL DROIDS!"
30. harder. bosses. i beat nihilus in practically 3 hits and sion was simply. *hit* *die* *ressurect* "I CANNOT BE DEFEATED!" "oh yes you can" *hit* *die again* *ressurect* "YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME!!1" "shut it" *hit* *die* *Ressurect!* "have you given up yet?" "no" *hit* *die*
31. make some of the force powers harder to master, but more powerful. eg. stick around 9 lightning levels.
32. more martial arts stuff, but make it interesting. its always fun to say to someone who takes out a lightsabre "yeah? i know kung fu!" *puts on shades*
33. make aprentances proper apprentaces.. less boring.. I AM YOUR APPRENTICE! at the end of the game and then "well... i dont actually do anythign wtih you, and now its the end of the game"
34. make more sith/ dark jedi and apprentaces. but make some alot harder. and make the weak ones a bit harder.. its embarressing seeing "YOU DO NOT KNOW THE POWER OF THE DAR-" *killed by rodian technician*
35. add more levels to the game and make moving around a bit more cooler. ie, there are sith patrolling about and you are spying on them from a roof top, you jump down on them, and attack. so you can do stuff like jumping and scaling in the game.
36. more jedi temples. they are always fun.
37. be able to capture wild creatures and keep as battle pet. ie: kath hound
38. ability to actually JOIN the sith and fight with and for them. it would be nice to grow up in a sith environment, with all the dieing captains and promotion ect.
39. force persuation more common and useful
40. BULLET TIME!... nah. how about find relatives to characters in movies, such as han solo's great uncle or something.
and i cant be bothered to put anything else

andvagor suggested something that made me think, but how about some of the other party members become attracted to each other? It's not like you're the only desirable person on the ship. Maybe if you trigger some event or something, one pair of people will get together, and it affects how everyone else feels about them or how you feel about them. It's not like Atton and the Handmaiden or Visas couldn't've gotten it on; he made that snide remark about Kreia probably looking good once, so you know he was itchin' for some lovin', and the Exile isn't always female.
General: "Those aren't ideas; those are special effects."
Michael Bay: "I don't understand the difference."

well.... in my case visas, mira, and handmaiden (who IS the hottest... what? really? shes the only character to runs round in a bra on the ship) were always itchin get it on with my character... lesbians or not i played both female and male. but yeah.. i agree, however if we carry on like this people will just play the game to have tamagotchi starwars characters... hmmm... thats a thought

Just to point out something, but Ive read through a lot of the stuff that people want and its pretty much all the same. And a lot of it is really good ideas.
But you know, maybe it would be a good idea to send it to someone?
What would a rodian Technician use to kill a sith so quickly anyways? *slips with plasma cutter*. heh heh heh
Some nice things to have would be stuff like mulitple races to choose from, more of these people from other races walking around and more people who look alien in your party. No offence, but after a while Echani, Mandalorian, Miraluka and human all started looking the same.
More planets would be nice too. I doubt that an intergalactic conflict is going to take place on 4 planets. A couple more planets would be nice too. I know that it would take more time, but a game where you have to completye quests on 8 planets with one or two side planets would seem like a good idea.
No more abondoned or dead planets either please. Korriban and Peragus were annoying, not cool, and seemed to take up a lot of time with no plot development or learning anything. And tie some more things up with the main quest too. I mean, your killing people by the hundreds in these games. Wouldnt it be nice to know that you may get in trouble with this. the only time that this happened in the series was on Manaan when you are accused twice of using force and attacking people, ect. And could you bring bck the character side quests too? I found it interesting to see your characters past. You find canderous, think hes just some backstreet hired muscle and you learn that he was an imotant officer in the madalorian wars. And that he was responsible for several battles that didnt go the republics way. bastilas troubled family past and constant bickring about how you must follow the councils will and then she goes dark side. stuff like that made the game complex and interesting.
I would keep on going, but Ive already written a bunch of stuff and now Im just taking up space.

mandalorian, echani and humans practically are the same... they are just different cultures. echani are simply royal guards and jedi soldiers who arent force sensitive, and mandalorians are just wierd people who decided to go a bit too extream with the idea of "honour". and a miralukan looks like kreia. so.. yeah they mostly do look the same. anyway, yeah. but anyway. yeah i like the little side quests, they are interesting, and it gives you more reasons to replay the game. i only replayed kotor 3 times to find out everyones past.
ps: i liked korriban

no offence, but other than the tomb and the holocron that may have bastila, I didnt find much interesting stuff on Korriban. What made it so appealling?
Or am I just becoming cynical now?

The thing about the movies was that at the beginning of the original trilogy, no-one knew each other (Ok Han and Chewie did, but the others were just forced together). Most of the main characters were there early on. It was similar in KoToR 1, where Mission and Zaalbar were the only ones who knew each other, and there were only 2 characters left after dantoine. There was the revalation in the middle - 'Luke, I am your Father'/'You are Revan' - in both the trilogy and KoToR 1.
KoToR 2 has no plot twist and none of the NPC's in your party knew each other well (except Kreia, who seemed to know everyone; and Bao-Dur and the exile, who only get a couple of bits of dialogue, and since the player does not know about the relationship, it is pretty worthless). I think 5 or 6 of the possible 12 by the end of Telos (depending on player gender). This meant that depending on the order of play of the planets, the interactions come later. There is no conclusive end - just a 'to be concluded' on the end. In KoToR 1 and the trilogy, there were conclusive endings - 'Bye bye deathstar'/'Bye bye Sith'/'I'm bad, lets torch the republic'.
In KoToR 3 the plot, and character interactions will probably be more important.
